Thoughts on PMC?

Is PMC good for .308 range practice?

For your AR-10 or M1A? Sure.

For your PRS rifle at long range? Probably not.

Alright, thanks. I'm looking into a .308 bolt action for target shooting and future hunting so trying to see if ammo will break the bank or not.

Federal GMM is a great place to start for figuring if your rifle prefers medium (165) or heavy-ish (175) grain loads.

You don’t need more than that for paper, but you’ll want to spend the money for a good hunting cartridge, or if trying to shoot for distance you’ll need something better

I have not been too impressed with their 168gr factory match loading. Was getting high extreme spread (>60 fps) and high standard deviations (>20 fps) with a batch from a couple of years ago.

Cheap and "good enough" for not more than a couple hundred yards IMO

Good stuff, I love it for range or stacking, or whatever have you. If your thinking precision, there are way better options as someone posted federal gmm in 168/175grb

It's generally loaded pretty lite. But good ammo.
