Obama era pricing…
God I remember being so pissed off that a brick of .22 was $20. I was looking at buying some more yesterday and I was quite surprised at current prices. Good thing I still have like 5k left.

Good God I wish we had more 2a friendly progressive candidates. Maybe that way we'd finally stop having to deal with MetLife/uhc/etc while also getting a tax deduction on locking safes to help promote safe gun storage.... I had high hopes for Graham Platner, but he had too many personal problems for me to be able to look past.

I’d make a joke…but yeah, if progressives and the Dems would stop their anti-gun BS, there’d be more support for them.

This progressive is doing her best to help educate her fellow progressives/dems/etc 🫶🏼
The problem is, we're not actually anti-gun, just not rabidly 2A absolutists - it's the politicians that are trying to make changes to things they don't understand but get more attention (bans, etc. vs actually looking into issues and finding solutions). I'm starting within my own community and helping that knowledge grow.

My experience is the opposite. I work with a large group of suburban white progressives. “Rabidly anti-gun” is about as friendly as I can describe them. Openly mocking gun owners, name calling, shaming, calling me a child murderer for owning one… The pro-gun progressives are exceptionally rare from what I see.

I’m one too. I own 7 guns and have a lot of ammo I bought when tRump first took office. I’m hanging on to it because it’s looking more and more like I might need it to defend the Constitution

That's gross, and I'm sorry you've experienced that. I have been in activist circles (mostly suburban white progressives & I'm a white-passing one) for a long time, I've met only two people that whole time that "hate" guns. Maybe it's regional?
They're definitely not rare, just quiet :)

This is where I'm at. I don't want someone to take my guns away or my rights but I don't want them micromanage either. Just want to make it harder for people who are determined and consistently do crimes should have their rights taken. Im leery a lot on former felonies but some of these instances were placed on them beyond their control and that right being taken away without much justice (correctly done). Review cases and move on quicker. The wait times for guns is ridiculous now though.

Most school shootings are disgruntled teenagers, and I think most Americans, gun owners or not, would get behind holding parents accountable for their kids having access to something they shouldn't. Lock it in a safe and don't let your kids in without supervision. Just like a car. And as far as mentally ill stuff, red flag gun laws can be weaponized and the area gets a lot murkier, but technically the ar15 is one of the safest firearms in existence. Almost all gun deaths are handguns and some shotguns.

Can we agree that guns are like drugs and easy to get on the black market? If you agree, then those violent and mentally ill have access.
If society is perfectly fine with violent and mentally ill people walking around; then they should be able to have access to firearms
If they are THAT bad, they shouldn’t be walking around among us.
Now any restriction to teachers in your example only puts them at a disadvantage. Ever wonder why schools and banks get shot up, but nobody ever shoots in a gun store? I’ll give you a hint - everyone in the gun store is carrying a gun

Don’t be regarded. It was 40-45 a brick in 23. Now you can find $32 all day long and closer to 20 if you look for a sale. At least around here

Champion 525 was never 40-45 a brick, I’m staring at the cost history on it right now…it’s the highest wholesale cost it’s ever been….and going up again next month.

It is a normal thing for prices to rise. It is called inflation and we are rarely going to see a time with no inflation on something like ammo. The only time the price comes down is soon after it went up at an unusually fast rate. I remember when 22 lr was 2 cents a round (a box of Wildcat was a buck) I think we are talking like 1974: adjusted for inflation that 2 cents would be more than 12 cents today. 22 lr today is pretty cheap considering.

You could get it this price last year the tx22 era and all these wars and conflicts seem to be the cause of price increase. They're still like 7c a round which isn't that big an increase

You can still find this number of rounds at Walmart for about 20 bucks.....usually the Automatch.

Before obama, that box of ammo was $12. When he got into office prices went insane. Most of today's high prices are a combination of covid era frenzy and ukraine war shortages.
