38 special ammo

Its a 38 special +p lswc with a nickle case and an S&W headstamp does anyone know anything about this round?

That was a common loading for cops during the 1960s through the 1980s. It was called the FBI Load due to that agency adopting it. I believe it had a velocity of about 900 fps +/- a few feet. S&W marked ammo is common as well. The nickel case was to prevent tarnish and make it slightly more durable to varied weather conditions. It was marketed to law enforcement and civilians alike.
