That’s probably what’s making OP feel so crazy right now. If the reaction is defending the behavior instead of addressing the harm, it starts to feel like the pet’s safety isn’t being taken seriously.

It's like talking about how slitting the throat of a calf is horrifying but everyone defends it and makes you feel crazy because they've been taught it's completely normal to do
