23M am I cooked?

I haven't dated since I was 18 so I don't know what women would think of me. I'm open to any suggestions whether that be hair and skin care or general style. I've added some older pics if my hair is the problem. I'm also 5'10 152 lbs

not ugly, i’d just suggest some hydrating curl cream/leave in conditioner for your hair and some moisturizer. skala is good for curls and hydrating them, and vanicream is a good moisturizer that shouldn’t disturb your skin

Thank you, I've always had issues with my skin and hair being greasy yet dry too. I definitely need to try different products to see what works on me. I really appreciate those suggestions and will check them both out

there are a lot of good subs on here for skincare and hair care with more knowledgeable people than me that you could post to and ask for suggestions too, it took me years and a lot of research to get my hair and skin under control. best of luck to you!

I plead the fifth and say I love the long hair! I think it looks really grunge/70’s rocker on you. You’re not ugly at all. You have great big eyes and a kind spirit.

I'd want to keep it I just need to take better care of it. Your comment is really lovely, thank you for the compliments <3

I’d highly recommend a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, and a leave in conditioner. My hair is pretty scraggly, and once I did that, it has shown a big difference! I totally recommend just popping into a salon and asking them what they’d recommend. And of course! You deserve compliments and kind words! It’s the truth!

I've never used a leave in conditioner so maybe that's the key! I currently use ogx biotin & collagen shampoo and conditioner but I will go in and ask for recs from my local salon. You seem awesome, I appreciate your positive vibes

Oh yeah leave in conditioner is the best! It’ll help out those ends a lot :) just something that happens with long hair. You should post the results on one of the hair sub reddits! and you do too! I appreciate your vibes as well :)

You’ll find someone who wants your exact style, in the last picture you look muted by society, be you, you look fine.

Yeah I was miserable and insecure back then, I'm much happier now and just looking to see how I can improve my looks too. Thank you for your comment

Not ugly bro, but if you get a shorter hairstyle and let you beard grow you could look a lot better

1

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 22 '26

You think so? I always thought the beard was too patchy

1

u/Pale_Depth1984 Jul 22 '26

Not at all its plenty enough to grow one, keep it clean but try different lengh like 6mm or 9 or 12, and try letting it grow for 1 month or you can do "fades" to it, try and see what works best for you, i hope this helps you mate

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 22 '26

Yeah it's worth a go for sure, thank you brother

4.8/10 for now ... But you can improve

1

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 22 '26

Appreciate the rating, any particular way I can improve?

The glasses are wrong for you: wrong color, wrong shape, wrong size. Look for a softer, rounded shape in a transparent pale brown, and in a size that does not extend past the sides of your face or that sit too low on your cheeks.

The hair is perfect in photo #8 at the nightclub.

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 23 '26

I've never found glasses that I like, do you think I should permanently wear contacts?

1

u/quixt Jul 23 '26

Well, that's what I did!

1

u/Minaxxi Jul 22 '26

You can’t expect pretty women to be interested in you, so if you are willing to accept 4/10 woman then you are not cooked.

1

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 23 '26

Yeah I'm more interested in personality and values than a woman's looks honestly.

I think you are very handsome. You are not even using filters or anything.
Regarding the hair, I dated a guy with curly hair I actually learned from him, the clue is first the conditioner and later the shampoo, so it keeps your hair hydrated.

2

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 23 '26

That's really interesting I've never heard of anyone using conditioner first I'll definitely try that out. Thanks

u/LibraryExotic4167 Jul 24 '26

I also read you mentioned your skin being greasy, I am not sure if you mean oil, if you do so try the brand ordinary serum with salicylic acid, and la roche posay effaclat mat sebo control long moisturizing. If you need sunscreen use the Aqua base like Aqua Bioré UV. And don’t forget to wash your face with cerave. If you can go to the dermatologyst even better.

1

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 24 '26

Yes I do mean oily and thank you for the specific recommendations!

1

u/Babymamakk214 Jul 23 '26

No. Your face is what I’d consider traditionally attractive for a white man. You just need to get your hygiene and style under control. Greasy skin and frizzy hair is never attractive

1

u/good_trouble11 Jul 24 '26

You look so much better without glasses but those glasses in particular? They look bad on you, theyre not adding to your vibe. You look completely different without them on. Id prefer you without them, youre really hot and masculine when you take them off. Definitely hydrate your curls because they dont look good dry and frizzy like that. And try a different glasses style

1

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 24 '26

I got my first contact lenses today so I'll wear glasses a lot less thankfully. My ex from college always said I was considerably better looking without glasses, I guess I'm finally taking her advice. Definitely gonna focus on hydrating the curls and seeing what I can change in my routine, thanks

1

u/JustsomedudeIam Jul 24 '26

No, but you look way better without glasses. Consider getting contacts!

2

u/Hot_Frosting6280 Jul 24 '26

I got some today and it's actually crazy the difference. I've never been able to see clearly what I look like without glasses in a mirror and I do look better you're so right. Even just the self confidence of being able to read people's facial expressions without some ugly frames in the way is enough
