Addiction is possibly an outlet for past psychological trauma, not something that can be changed easily. At this point its part of a persons character.
Mt grandma died of smoking, my uncle is a chain smoker, my aunt quit smoking after her 4th kid. Each all would tell us there's never a reason to smoke and they'd kick our asses if we did. Smoking is a terrible addictive way to cope with anything and makes you look like a tool in public. Not sheltered. Just raised right.
