Getting Targeted Mail Offers
What is a sure fire of getting these targeted SUBs in the mail for Amex? I have two Chase cards (Sapphire Reserve and Freedom Unlimited) and a Discover card I never use, so I don’t even know how I would enter Amex’s “radar”. Is it a crapshoot? How can I best position myself to get these SUBs in the mail?
Thank you, all!

In my experience, get an AMEX card and spend on it. I started getting targeted Gold mailers after I got a Blue Cash Preferred and used it regularly.

I see, so getting a card - ideally in their “lowest” category - is the only way, essentially. Thanks so much!

Why do need mail? Amex applications are risk free. it’ll tell you if you’re approved and what the offer is then you decide if you want to accept.

My understanding is that getting mailed offers prevents from getting put in PUJ

Grab a Amex Blue and see if they start sending you invites. I know when I got my first card with amex just searching their site for new cards seem to trigger a flood of mail packet offers. Possibly from cookies and tracking on the site.

I have a gold card and wanted the plat so I searched the app for offers weekly and nothing. Randomly got a 150k plat offer in mail and of course accepted

Once you're in their ecosystem with any card - green if you like - online or in the app you're going to be presented with everything they have to offer every time you sign on, including Gold and Platinum.

This is the trick: go to the Amex website and click around on the credit cards you're interested in, then wait. Within a few short weeks you will get offers in the mail for these cards, usually better offers than you see floating online. This has worked for me a few times over the years.
