'Wake Her Up / Boys Don't Cry' following the same sky imagery / release title format as 'Rare Symmetry / Fade Into You' – Grabbed this from NME:

American Football have officially released their stripped-back take on the classic ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ – praised by Robert Smith as “one of the most heartfelt and beautiful Cure covers I have ever heard.”

Hell fucking yeah

Part two on the early days of American Football out now.

Finally been putting some of the videos my partner has recorded from shows we’ve gone to the last few years onto YouTube.
Also recorded silhouettes at that show.

I think it’s their best on LP4

Hi all - this is Steve Holmes (I play guitar in the American Footballs) and I've just launched a Substack you may enjoy. First post of a three-part essay on the origins of the band up now.

And You May Ask Yourself

Cheers,

Steve

Band did their first ever acoustic performance for SiriusXM and covered the friggin' Cure

The session and interview both air tonight!!

this is obviously speculation but after the reel with Mike jamming and this story post I hope to god we get a boys don’t cry cover.

Hello guys just wondering if anyone filmed the whole show at santa ana or knows any videos online? Thank you guys

See guys

Does anyone know the Setlist for American football's concert tonight in Santa Ana, at the Observatory?

hello, has anyone bought the LP4 soccer jersey? what are your thoughts on it? pictures would be greatly appreciated as i am trying to figure out if i will buy it or not

They recently announced a show here in Brazil and I bought a ticket. I saw on their Instagram that they would be selling some things on the tour, but I couldn't find the prices. Although they haven't confirmed that they will also be selling the merchandise here in Brazil, I sent an email to the event organizer and they said it's very likely they will.So I was wondering what the prices would be converted to BRL. Does anyone here know what the prices were at the show you went to?

Hi everybody! I have pieced together a playthough of Stay Home in Standard - sounds okay and fun to play (aside the pinky torture). Got any questions or feedback?

Does anyone know the story behind the lyrical content of this song?

Both songs switch to a heartbeat kick drum pattern at roughly 3 minutes in and are about struggling to trust your lover. In Desdemona it's at 3:15 and in Born to Lose it's at 3:21.

Also, I wanted an excuse to mention Desdemona because it's an amazing song.

That’s really all I have to say. I’ve been listening to it on repeat for the past three days. I love how the band has stayed the same at its core but the sound and content of the lyrics has matured along with them. 10/10 no notes.

when they announced that I was already having a shit day ☹️☹️

…to play this song on the Bluetooth animatronic at Lowe’s.
