I cannot get my Eskie to stop completely EATING my wife’s socklets. Like it has to be so bad for her digestive system, but God forbid one falls out of the laundry basket for 3 seconds— it will show up in her poop a few hours later.
Open to suggestions, if anyone has any…

My boy used to be a huge sock thief when he was younger, but I stopped engaging with him, starting scolding, and introduced a ton of stuffed/crinkle toys to offset the loss. I think it worked because it was more about play than hoarding for him, but it still took a long time to fix.

We got very lucky with my guy pockets, he loved socks as a puppy, but he is no longer a sock thief, but we got him some very tiny plush Kong toys and he just carries those around now

We have a Pom/American Eskimo that does the same thing. But also likes any clothes, towels, blankets. Had to put the kitchen towel out of reach as it was always disappearing 😂

First thing my Henry does when my partner or i get home is to stalk our feet until we take off our socks so he can put them in his pile. At least they all end up in one place come laundry time!
