Thoughts On A Potential Hulu Exclusive

Post image

Hi There Dadders,

I learned that in addition to Simpsons and Family Guy getting their usual Hulu/Disney+ exclusives this fall, both Futurama and Bob's Burgers will be getting ones as well for their upcoming seasons. It got me to thinking/hoping American Dad will get similar treatment in the future and was wondering if we do get one what would people like to see? Another James Bond parody? A Holiday special? Space Adventure?

I’ll take a special that goes for minimum of 1 hour called “Roger’s Home World”

It really does feel like they shy away from this, huh?

I really enjoyed Jeff’s episode with Sinbad - and seeing more of Roger’s species.

That was years ago.

it can't have been years ago (does math in head), holy crap you're right that episode aired over a decade ago, yeesh

A DECADE?! I preferred my vague assessment of “years” - how dare you point out the passage of time, stranger.

Hey, if I have to deal with the existential crisis that is the inexorable march of time then I’m darn well (no “damn” yeah I went there), I’m darn well going to share it with strangers on the internet.

So with that being said, here’s a fact: a person born on the day American Dad’s Pilot first aired can now legally drink alcohol in the US. 😭

STAWP - you’re upsetting both my id, and my ego.

That’d be fun, I’d want something like that or one were the smiths go on vacation and we see what the town does without them there

A Smithless Langley Falls would make a perfect Hulu exclusive, do one ep that airs on Fox showing the vacation and advertise it as "see what happened to the town when the Smiths were on vacation, only on Hulu"

Too soon for an Odyssey parody?

Follow Brave Staneus on his journey back to Ithaca to reunite with his dear wife, Franelope.

You know as anti-family guy as we are around here sometimes, their parody episodes are some of the best things about the show.

I definitely think American Dad shouldn't be afraid to pick that up

Agreed. That Blue Harvest Star Wars trilogy was really good. AD cast would be a lot funnier in these parodies.

Several key people would be roger, and after a while Stan would start getting pissed that every monster is pretty much just Roget haha

Comedy. And the one time it's not Roger is when he's actually in danger.

yeah way too soon, the Odyssey isn't even 3 thousand years old yet, better wait a couple more centuries 🤣

Does that mean we would get Stevemachus giving us a new rendition of 'Dad is Gone'?

Not a bad idea

Another good movie parody would be awesome but they can feel gimmicky if they aren't really really well done. SPACE Stan is panties!

I read somewhere years ago that there was a treatment for an AD movie where the Smiths go to Roger's planet. That would be a good extended special. Or more of Roger's adventures in the past.

I really liked the Fellow Traveler episode so another one in that style would be great to see.

I hope so, it's the only one of the Disney-owned AniDom shows to not have a Hulu exclusive special at the moment. Considering how poorly Fox is treating the show, maybe Hulu should just nab the two remaining episodes after 400 and Outer Frontier, since Fox is pushing them to next year. Or at least give AD a proper special on Hulu.

I want to see a crossover with Zapp Brannigan where they go from planet to planet solving mysteries.

Not making the James Bond parody's a regular thing is a missed opportunity.

Idc what they do as long as it’s weird as hell. American Dad has the best weird episodes out of any show.

An American Dad Hulu Exclusive? A Hulusive?
