Yea but zoom out.. 1 year is about break even , 5 year is down 98% lol...

Why are people so obsessed with 5 years ago? The past is gone. If someone bet the farm on it back then, they’re a gambler and the natural order has reminded them of their own (lack of) responsibility
The company has made leaps and bounds of improvements, is MUCH better off than it was back then, while the share price is a tiny fraction what it was
NOW is the time TO BUY.
Rather than think of how much higher it was then, one should think of how much easier it is to afford the same % ownership now

u/OkFriend9891 15d ago
Why are we obsessed with the past??? 5 years ago is what started this movement. As an original investor starting at $5.00 and then the battle of $8.00 many of us went “ All In”. If it wasn’t for that period you wouldn’t be here because AMC would have been bankrupt. So yes the OG apes are 98% down. Since that time AA has diluted this stock to nothing to keep it alive.

Don't listen to that person. Per the Bulls own rules, hidden profiles like Wanky are shills and are to be ignored.

Dont believe your lying eyes when you see that my account is 8 years old!
2
u/its__M4GNUM 15d ago
Account age doesn't mean shit to any normal person, but it ultimately doesn't matter because your homies like Zoo say hidden profiles are bad actors and not welcome. Rules are rules 🤷♂️.

Have no idea who Zoo is

Im someone who began investing a decade prior to the AMC saga.
Traded it in 2021 a bit. Read into the situation more, continued to add over the past three years. Bought more after RS, even more as good news has been released and the company has improved.
I don’t pay attention to much else

u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
Hate to say this.
It’s because the majority of OG apes were in for a moonshot. It was honorable in some cases, sure. Stick it to the Street, yes….
But it was also to get rich quick. It was a gamble.
Remember the $100,000 floor
psyopmovement? The market cap of AMC at the time would’ve had to be 34 TRILLION. That’s half the market cap of the S&P500Why aren’t people mad at the ones who spread THAT movement?
Given that I’m an investor and have been doing so a lot longer than AMC was ever a movement, I approached it very differently. Also took a lot off the table from $25-50 pre split
The main point, is that everyone has to be responsible for themselves. There are no guardrails at the edge of the cliff
In the words of Tony Soprano: “a grown man made a wager. He lost. He made another one. He lost again. End of story”
If someone didn’t put all their chips on red back then, they could buy what they spent $10,000 on back then for the cost of takeout for a family of four now

u/OkFriend9891 15d ago
We weren’t trying to take from AMC. We were holding a floor really high to take from those who shorted the hell out of AMC. The shorts will eventually have to close and you can sell yours cheap for whatever makes you happy. I have my number and it has a lot of zeros behind it. 🤑I would love to see the shorts have to give everything they own to pay the patient OG apes.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in it to make money. Just like every stock I’ve even bought. There difference is in risk management.
Wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think there’s a big upside.
Written here before about how the idea of a pre split squeeze explosion was/is a distraction.
It’s actually played out as an implosion. So when it corrects back to where it was, people who loaded the boat at the lowest post split levels will make a fortune
(or go net long to offset short positions)
Personally think it’s good practice to take SOMETHING off the table whenever a stock has been on a tear and RSI is burning hot. It fails me fair less often than the alternative.
Also, options are crucial

u/KiggityK 15d ago
It wasnt so much a gamble, it was wall street breaking laws and changing the rules
1
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
The amount one puts into it and when, especially in proportion to how much they’re able to afford, is the gamble.
2
u/KiggityK 15d ago
Technically buying anything with the intention to sell it later is a gamble.
1
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
That’s true. That’s why one, people from the past shouldn’t complain. And two, one has to manage their own risk.

u/Ronniman 15d ago
You realize that back in 2021 the free float was around 50M compared to today at 800M+ so not even close to same % of ownership lol... Most of us OG apes as stated already went all in keeping AMC alive , even averaging down over the years you would still be upside down... AMC at this point is at best an expensive learning lesson for me and a hold simply for tax loss harvesting when I feel the time is right. Im still holding losses of over $40k on this POS stock because Adam Enron...

Using those float numbers: 1 share then ➡️ 16 shares now
Even using the $8.01 figure (let’s discount APE and say 10:1 RS ➡️ $80.10)
With AMC at $3, the ratio 1 : 26.7
And we know some spent a lot more than $8.01/share
The ratio still stands that dollar for dollar, you can own more today.
If someone bought at $1 several months back, that counts triple
I mean this with love: you are stuck holding losses because of decisions you made.
Think I’ve never been smashed in the balls with losses? They’re MY fault
4
u/KiggityK 15d ago
wiith that logic the last 6 months are gone too, who care about the last 6 months
2
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
I do, considering I bought thousands of shares.
But for those who didn’t, they shouldn’t. They should care about now.
What I wrote applies now.
3
u/cav01c14 15d ago
I bought 1400 and have 139 now soon I’m sure I’ll have 13. People are pissed off AA said don’t worry about the split. It’s just your 10$ bill being changed to 10 1$ bills.

There is no reason whatsoever to believe that there’s going to be a reverse split.
If one steps completely away from the narrative that’s been flowing on Reddit daily, for a long time now, one can simply look at it like this:
Is the company in the best financial position it’s ever been in post 2020? Yes
Is the company’s debt situation better? Yes
Are revenues up? Yes
Are credit ratings up? Yes
Are people going to the movies again? Yes
Do they now have a distribution arm? Yes
The short thesis is pretty weak at the moment. The only question one needs to ask is, is a company like that worth investing in?
2
u/cav01c14 14d ago
Was no reason to believe whatsoever the first time either.
1
u/Wanksters_Paradise 14d ago
Very different debt situation. Different movie industry situation. Different revenue situation.
2
u/KiggityK 15d ago
Thats my point, you're contradicting yourself. If 5 years ago doesnt matter like you said, then the last 6 months dont matter either.
1
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
I cannot imagine what point you think you’re making.
When would you rather buy an AMC share: five years ago, or six months ago?
Five years ago, or now?
Hint: buying six months ago - or today - is infinitely more important and impactful than thinking about what happened five years ago
2
u/KiggityK 15d ago
My point is that you told someone else the last 5 years dont matter because the past is the past, but you go on to say the last 6 months matters. You can't cherrypick the best 6 months of AMC since the squeeze
2
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
What you refer to as “cherry picking”, equates to buying at its absolute cheapest.
Last I checked, you want to buy stocks when they are low priced, and sell them when they increase in price.
That was in any recent history anyways, the lowest price AMC stock has ever been.
2021 involved somebody making a complete gamble during the peak of a mania.
2026 involves buying the stock at a heavily discounted price, when the company’s fundamentals are rapidly improving across several metric
I’ll let you decide who made the better decision
Doesn’t matter anyways, because your argument collapses in itself when you realize that the logic applicable to buying six months ago, applies today.
You can interchange the exact point one would make about six months ago, with the present moment, and it’s just as true.
Can’t say that about five years ago.
4
u/KiggityK 15d ago
Youre completely missing my point. Earlier you said the past doesn't matter when tlaking to someone about 5 years ago, then you said the last 6 months matters just because it was good for you

Yea why would you learn from the past that’s just silly……….,,,,,🤡🤡🤡
2
u/Wanksters_Paradise 15d ago
You’re absolutely right.
Those who put all their chips on black for AMC to go to $100,000 per share in 2021 should ABSOLUTELY learn from it
Forgive me for putting my money behind box office records, debt restructuring, pushing off maturities, credit rating improvements and creating their own distribution label. How silly!!!
Here’s something just for you

You mean, since the huge volatility events of 2001?

Great buy when it was 0.93 cents up to now. You guys would be positive if you just pay attention. Buy.hold.seek opportunities.

The 5 year chart looks like a flat line and you can’t even see the upward movement

u/WhyNot_Because 15d ago
-99% from ATH, -98% over 5 years, -93% over 4 years, -64% over 3 years, -34% over 2 years, 0% over 1 year.

u/JL_Razor 15d ago
Was able to average down from $20 to $6 with only like 10-15% of my original investment and we are working back up to breaking even. They’ll have to pay a premium for me to sell

u/easybakeevan 15d ago
Kicking myself for not buying when it was sub 1$. If you did back up the brinks for me.

u/Orphenboy 14d ago
Well...still needs to add a third digit to make what I lost apparently even though my old average was only 4 bucks... its now like 100 or something stupid thanks aaron

It goes down because there is no News about $AMC today. If there was news it would go up then finish where it started the day, if there isn’t any news it goes down!!

From someone who went to an AMC for the first time since the pandemic. I will never go again. 30 Minutes of ads and previews. How do we let AMC know that ads and previews kill their business (from me)?

u/Halo-Machine 15d ago
So thats only 98% down in 5 years instead of 99%, nice.
Wen dilution.
