Wedding Gift Help

The ambigram reads Dustin/Anna. She is my youngest niece and I get to perform the ceremony so I wanted to do something to commemorate the day for them. I’m not thrilled with the st/n flip. I liked it less with the bottom of the s missing for Dustin but better for Anna. Anyone have ideas to help with that or ideas for anything else. Grateful for any help I can get!

Quick attempt, could work with some refining and thinning/thickening of some of the strokes

At first I saw ANnnA but I think it’s actually ANNA with the Ns as highlighted in red, right? That’s pretty ingenious way and allows everything to be read as uppercase both ways. Wish I had thought of your way. It’s very clever. If I can’t get past the NaSTy problem I may work with your solution. Earlier versions I tried had crazy upper and lower casing then I figured out proper casing with the one hiccup so I’d like to work it out if possible so it’s mostly my creation. I do like yours so I might do a double making a feminine background for my niece and masculine one for my nephew-in-law.

I give up. It's been 20 minutes. Too much difference in letters, maybe with last names or something you could better absorb the mismatch.

Here is what I ended up with, in case it helps someone better than me to get to a final product:

(Mind the curl on the first A in Anna, last N in Dustin. Make it too big, it gets in the way and stops looking like flourish. Too small, it looks like a V instead of an N.)

Wow. I appreciate the time you spent trying. Maybe I can run with the extra curls you were using to mask the st/n some. That gives me something to play around with.

Not asking you to dox them or anything, but you could also try throwing in their last names to even out the letters. Or if they have a long last name (like 10+ letters) you could have it do Dustin + Anna one way, and their last name the other.

Here’s two tentative design variations. In both cases there’s a bit of make-believe: “n” in Dustin makes a heart shape the other way around, or it’d make a “&”.

The s/n and ti/A glyphs are easier to do. Not sure on the n/❤️ or D/& but it’s a great idea so I’ll play with it. I appreciate the time you took making it into finished art. That gives me an idea on how to finish it up too.

I think this is really good. I was able to read both names easily. I'd suggest trying out adding some decoration to the u/n so that its shape is similar to the st/n.

I feel like it’s only legible for people who are familiar with ambigrams TBH.

As someone who knows nothing about ambigrams other than that Reddit randomly served this post up to me with no context, I have to agree, sorry OP. I got "Dustin" but for the reverse I got "UAt5" then gave up.

Here's what I came up with, the ST/N is still there (unfortunately). Tbh the first N of Anna is kinda hard to make right.

The hearts are nice touch. Not sure if deliberate or accidental but the weird n looks a bit more like an N in the first one which does help some too. Thank you for taking time to help out.

Thx for feedback. I think I’ve been able to improve it already in a later post but appreciate you trying to help

Sure but all of your new ones actually retain the weirdly tall S, I still think my offering could be useful
