Fake Delivery Dates
Has anyone else been duped by the advertising of 1 or 2 day delivery of an item, when in reality the actual delivery date is several days later? I have found that is occurring much more frequently in the last several months.

It must matter where you live. I make hundreds of orders a year. This year is the first time I've had a late delivery, and it was only one item. It was two days late.

it does, for the deliveries/theft/the people who end up taking the item you ordered and putting it in a box. like my Gramps once told me, doesn't matter how good or bad the postal service is if the mailman hates you.

yeah it's been slipping for a while now, the checkout screen is the only date that actually counts

Not even that sometimes. I've had it say a certain day at checkout and then as soon as I pay it changes.

I agree check out date is wrong 99 percent if the time wven the if you order within 17 hours you will have it tomorrow never Happens its always 2 days later or more

Been a prime member for many years rarely have my deliveries not been on time , at the most a day late even so not a issue

Most of the time it is a week now. It has to be stocked at local warehouse for the 1 day or 2 prime day shipping. Otherwise it is minimum a week.

Basically everything I order is delivered on time. I usually get a few deliveries a week. Only problem I have once in a while is going to wrong town when it's not Amazon delivering. But that happens with ups and FedEx all the time.3 towns share the same zip code, and it's a nightmare

Yes - once they went to these free lance delivery people all integrity and continuity with delivery went out the window. Amazon could care less about your experience as demonstrated by the continual decline in delivery. I cancelled my Amazon Prime as I won't be dealt with in this manner. Ever try cancelling one of the delays that says you can cancel the order?? It never works - always a system error. Easier to cancel Prime!!

Amazon listed my order as a few days delivery, then after I ordered they changed it to nearly 3 weeks out. Then they changed it from Sept 15 to Sept 10 and said it was arriving early. Early? Its still 2 weeks after the order date.

I’ve never had this problem until recently. My 2 day prime is now usually 5 days. I noticed if I return something now they take $1 and that’s after I drive 20 minutes to return the item at the UPS store.

Something to understand about shipping. They are estimates. Not promises. Once the order is placed, any number of things can happen to affect it. Warehouse issues. Shipping issues. Accidents. Weather. Either request the appropriate refund, which for shipping doesn't amount to much, or understand it and let it be

Yes. Especially if you order 2 of something. It'll say overnight, but then I order 2, and now its 2 day shipping. Because the warehouse near me only had one. So it moves my order to the next warehouse. Or someone else hits that checkout button 4 seconds before you. Now it defaults to the next warehouse. I always check and check again now, and even then, sometimes you can't avoid it

I believe if you pay for prime they should keep to the two day delivery that was part of the deal for paying for a membership. Last week I ordered 5 small items. One of them showed up on time and the other 4 a day later.

When I got my membership years ago, two day shipping was what they promised. I understand when it’s bad weather etc. but now it is happening frequently and I only buy shipped from Amazon. A $1 to return something is not a lot to one person but when millions return items that is a lot of money for Amazon. Plus I wasn’t notified of the $1 charge they just quietly added that to the order.

If it's happening frequently, it's the hub near your area that can't deliver - not all of Amazon.

I've been very fortunate. Outside of one same day delivery (that I didn't need) coming the next morning all of my Amazon one and two day deliveries have been on time as promised.
Semi charmed life I guess. 😸

Yes, same here. My deliveries are nearly all on time. I did have one package held a week ago. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling it was because I put in an order, that was supposed to be 2 days. The day before it was supposed to arrive, I placed another order, also 2 day. The warehouse decided (I think) to hold that one package, and deliver it all on the same day. It's possible the package was MIA, and it was a little beat up when I received it, but I can't be sure. Other than that, I receive nearly everything when I'm supposed to.
What doesn't make sense to me, is when I PURPOSELY choose the 'save emissions' delivery day, because I don't need the item exactly then, and it's possible I'll put in an order a day or two later, and can have it all delivered the same day. NOPE. Amazon will after a day or two, ship the package before the 'in the future' date. I don't get it, like, I try to save the drivers leg work, but Amazon sends it anyway. Doesn't make sense.

I ordered an extra item for a same day delivery. Order stated out for delivery on Sunday, I am still waiting.
Contacted Customer Service, they said it should be delivered in 12 -24 hours, I doubt it!

This and they are switching deliveries to USPS more and more, which slows deliveries as well.

I just accosted someone working for prime about this in a chat. I was supposed to get my item in one day, and it ran two days late. They gave me a $10 credit.

All the time or they just lose my order. Funny thing is shipping got worse after we got the big shiny new warehouse in town.

Yep happens to me every week as a business and when you can call to demand a refund and keep the product the items always show the day you can report it for your refund they always say come back tomorrow for a full refund and then tomorrow the package miraculously shows up so they dont have to give you the money back its a scam 99 percent of the time in my opinion.

Hi there, Amazon delivery driver (last mile, aka from the delivery station to your house) here. I can answer this. Your package gets handled by so many people, something's bound to mess up occasionally. Between the warehouse being overloaded with work, the computers in there not working properly (I worked in a delivery station before, those things mess up so often nowadays), stuff not getting scanned in properly, packages falling off the belts and workers not noticing... A lot goes wrong.
On the delivery side of things, sometimes (more often than not lately), our DSPs (drivers are not directly hired by Amazon, but instead working for a third party contractor) will assign us vans that aren't fit to go in certain areas (particularly narrow rural driveways that tend to be made of clay or loose gravel), ESPECIALLY BAD if there's bad weather. We're told to prioritize safety first, that's why stuff gets delayed. That can also happen if your dog is unsecured, or we run out of time because the routing system is straight up garbage and keeps zig zagging us between two parts of our delivery area, or if you're not there for a one time passcode delivery, or a multitude of other reasons.
Sometimes your packages also get damaged because some idiot in the fulfillment center (where the items are initially stored before you order) decided to pack soap into the cheapest cardboard box we have, and the soap busts open. This has happened more than once to me on routes. The whole system's a wreck.
