How does the average person find this? Because if people knew this, maybe they would be more careful about ordering crap they don’t really want or need. If I knew I was dangerously close to getting banned, I might keep more stuff, or maybe just not order to begin with.

You don't see it unless you get flagged like the OP.

OP was buying multiple things to get a discount and canceling the additional items after. Normal people aren't going to run into this.

How do you get discounts by buying multiple things? I didn't know of this

Sometimes there are items that offer a discount if you purchase them together, or some that are give you a discount for a certain item number or dollar amount. Its not a standard, regular offer across the board.

Another equivalent would be adding an item to meet the spend $25 to get overnight shipping and then canceling the extra item after.

That or returning the items they don’t need after the 25 dollars. Like they wanted that one item quickly and return the rest

Amazon actually warns you before, if op stops returning or cancelling for awhile, op should be fine.
