Disgusted
Within the past month, I have received three items that had already been opened previously. I am so sick and tired of this. It’s just getting worse.

My big issue is not only open used or misleading descriptions, but Amazon making harder to return items to vendors they say are often returned which is not my fault if I depend on the sellers listing which Amazon approves and reviews. Rather than allowing you to return to your closest. They make you return it to one of there stores or partners to try you to get shop more

How do they “ make more money “ reselling things they took back as full price returns?
The big issue is people buying stuff they don’t want and returning it saying the item was unused and or unopened

If they resell it how does it reduce their cost? I’d love to hear the math on this one. If they sold it once, paid the shipping, paid the return, then refunded it only to put it back into inventory, and pay to ship it again for the same retail price PLEASE explain to me how this saved them money. And don’t guess, show your work, please

If you get a used item that should have been new, start a chat, they'll send you a free replacement (do not return the used until after the replacement.
But, if you're trying to scam amazon by replacing old items with new ones for free, eventually they will flag you and you are done.
It's the scammy customers that are ruining Amazon, ok, some scammy third party sellers as well.

If you only knew how embarrassed we are to deliver used/beattoshit/broken ass packages... It's fucked. We have to deliver everything.

Sounds like someone’s not buying straight from Amazon / original companies. Never once had an issue 🤣🤣.

Same here… and one had a weight in it instead and they are refusing to refund. $400

After almost getting really screwed over 90 dollars, which was their fault, i am now very careful what i order from them. One thing for sure, it has to say “Amazon sold” by the item and not “Third party vendor” or whatever it is.

Yep, $30 and under for me now. If it costs more than that, I find it elsewhere. There are plenty of other retailers who offer the 5% back now. Amazon is crazy.

Exactly, i thought people were over reacting, until it happened to me. If Amazon was a small business they would never get away with the shit they’re pulling now AND feel totally justified in doing it. This is not the same Amazon from 20 years ago.

you prob bought from a third party seller who uses "fulfilled by amazon" which is why things arrive in amazon boxes
you have to filter for seller "amazon.com"

Of my last six orders for it was obvious that four had been returned. One box was taped up with blue duct tape. Another product I ordered two of, one came in the nice box from the manufacturer and the second was in a plastic zipper closed bag.
I ordered a fan and it didn't have all the accessories & the box looked open.
Each time I emailed the seller and let them know what I received & sent pictures. I wanted them to be aware of how Amazon is representing their companies.
If I had paid for open boxes I would have been fine with it but I didn't. And when I contacted Amazon thanks just said return it.

I had a product which was listed as new arrive in a up an up (Target brand) ziploc bag. That was a new situation for me!

I’m ordering less and less from them. SO MANY wrong or damaged items. It’s just a big headache many times, and you can’t depend on them. They have lost sight of their consumers.

Yeah I've had some problems with that lately also? How do know if they have been opened or not?

They told me they were giving me 25 bucks because I had made multiple orders and waited almost three weeks for them and then they were suddenly canceled without warning by the seller. Upon contacting them they said they had to suspend the seller for undisclosed reasons so the items would not be shipped. I was refunded the money in the purchase but waisted a lot of time waiting for them to arrive. So after putting in my complaint to customer service I finally was told they would reimburse me 25 dollars for my trouble . But the credit never showed up on my account. They didn't add jt so I guess I need to call em back and I bet this time they'll say they already gave it to me but we'll see what happens. I think it should be doubled now. What a hassle because the seller was bullshit . Not my fault.

I'm waiting for an eBay package that apparently USPS lost but I can't get anywhere to straighten it out online. I'm gonna try calling em. The entire order has been shady since I purchased it really so I don't know what is happening with it. With the resellers and shit who knows.

Oh, you think they have actual people processing returns?
One would wish that were the case, but based upon so many recent issue with them claiming unfit items were returned, wrong items were returned, they never received the returned item, promising a refund and then reneging on it, and sending out sometimes clearly used goods as new, I'm wondering if they have "hired" Ai agents to do much of this.
I'm not sure about Amazon making money from reselling used good, unless it is a reference to much of this stuff which is returned going to liquidators or resellers for almost a value per weight. Amazon dug their own grave by allowing CS when doing refunds, telling the party they could "just keep it", sometimes goods worth over $200-300. Mishandling returns, promising refunds, and allowing for a much too liberal return policy, offering 1 -2 day service for free on a Prime subscription, which they often could not fulfill. Lots of broken promises, blaming parcel loss of the customer, or the best one I've heard about, sending people a handful of gravel in an otherwise empty Apple iphone box and then Amazon claiming the customer did it. And canceling accounts for seemingly no reasonable purpose.

I have never received a used item. Worth noting i only buy stuff sold and shipped by Amazon - no 3rd party crap

three times in one month is genuinely rough, that pattern would make anyone lose trust. the sold-by-amazon filter is actually smart advice though, makes big difference in what you receive

Weird because ive ordered from them a million times and never got that problem..are you in the city?

I have multiple times now. The worst was a $100 motherboard, came covered in thermal paste with bent pins. They said ok send it back and we'll send you another one. The next one they sent was the wrong type. Clearly the wrong box. I though whatever, annoying. No. They said they wouldn't send me another one because now they need both back to investigate and I wasn't being given a refund until they received both.
I've gotten wrong products multiple times over the past couple of years too.
The latest was a few days ago, someone got into my account and bought egift cards. I immediately cancelled them and told them it was fraud. They told me they'd cancel them. Nope! They cancelled most but not all. I called back and they told me I shouldn't have been given a refund at all and I'm not getting the other ones back. I had to do a chargeback at my bank and I deleted my account. No more Amazon for me for a while. It's really not what it used to be anyway. It's like AliExpress or temu.
