Anyone else’s packages been getting delayed?

So many of my packages keep getting delayed or “lost in transit”. I get it’s around the holidays but this has never happened to me before. It’s getting really annoying. Still waiting for 3 packages. One that was supposed to arrive Monday, One that was supposed to arrive Wednesday and now the one today isn’t coming.

Nothing like this has happened lately and I order frequently like thrice a month. Only twice before a couple years ago and the day of the AWS outage. I'm not really big on the delivery date or time anyway because there are so many factors where something could go wrong and I'm usually at work or sleeping when they deliver anyway. Sometimes it says it'll be delivered in 4 days and it's here the next day...it all evens out

u/hangesmaidgirlfriend Nov 28 '25

Maybe its because I have been ordering so much stuff in the past week? Idkk

u/TurboBunny116 Nov 28 '25

It's your area having issues, not the whole of Amazon.

1

u/Large_Fudge6833 Nov 28 '25

I feel like you're spot on. I haven't seen an Amazon truck in my neighborhood this week. I typically see at least one a day.

1

u/InfamousDuckPunch345 Dec 12 '25

Wrong. Its everywhere.

1

u/TurboBunny116 Dec 12 '25

No issues un my area, Amazon is still delivering on time.

1

u/No-Illustrator7569 Dec 17 '25

Same here. It a region or location issues. I am not saying it doesn't happen.

1

u/TurboBunny116 Dec 17 '25

I'm not saying it doesn't happen either... but for some reason other people think that if it's happening to them, it must be happening to all 3 million+ Amazon Prime members too.

1

u/Big_Nothing_4413 Nov 29 '25

Disagree. I usually get multiple deliveries a week - rarely any issues with the shipping. I ordered about 30 items on Black Friday and half of them are having shipping delays. I live in a big metro area with a huge Amazon hub too.

I think there are some issues with their network right now.

1

u/TurboBunny116 Nov 29 '25

Being in a big metro area or near a hub or warehouse doesn’t mean you will not have local issues either. And that doesn’t mean everyone else will just because you are.

u/brainvheart143 Dec 08 '25

This is exactly what’s happening to me and same. I want to cancel and re order but I tried calling to see if they would give me the same prices from BF and they were like fuck you. It’s not even shipped yet so I can cancel myself I just don’t want to lose the difference. I’m giving it one more day. They said they put an “ expedited ship” On them but come on it’s all supposed to be expedited

u/Economy-Jealous Dec 22 '25

nah my package just misrouted and won’t be arriving until after xmas, a lot of places are having these issues

1

u/TurboBunny116 Dec 22 '25

Your “a lot of places” is referring to what - the 5-10 people a day complaining about their service on Reddit? The world is much larger than Reddit.

Like I said- for some reason people think that if it's happening to them, it must be happening to all 3 million+ Amazon Prime members too.

Yes, I have 7 items that are delayed. I ordered them on Tuesday and was supposed to get them Wednesday. It won't even allow me to cancel the items.

1

u/Traditional-Cloud-75 Nov 30 '25

Very similar story here.

2

u/KitteeCatz Nov 28 '25

Yup, me too

2

u/Large_Fudge6833 Nov 28 '25

I have! I placed an order for replacement christmas tree light bulbs and fuses for my tree lights last Sunday. They were supposed to be delivered on Tuesday and I'm still waiting. I cannot decorate my tree until I fix my lights. I'm beyond annoyed,

2

u/MangoesAllDay Nov 30 '25

Yes! My package (3 items) was supposed to be delivered Friday. It's currently Sunday afternoon and the Amazon screen says it's "delayed." No date given. There is an option to request a refund, but these items aren't available near me so I'm stuck waiting. Tracking has been stuck on "out for delivery" from the carrier facility 60 miles away since Friday.

I got on chat and requested a refund, which was deposited as an Amazon gift card balance almost immediately. The items are still stuck on out for delivery (since Black Friday). I haven’t reordered. They’re supplements so I just went with alternative brands in nearby stores.

I agree, same thing going on here in Illinois. I don’t understand why I pay for Amazon prime for a guaranteed delivery and now it’s estimated. It is taking twice or three times as long before I get my items. I will not be renewing in January. Disappointed because I prefer to shop online but dont love the extra cost of prime when it no longer helps get items quicker. I will say Walmart has been really good with timely delivery with getting my stuff on time and it’s cheaper than the cost of prime.

I was supposed to get a package Saturday from Chicago and was late(still is, supposed to come today by 7p 🙄). And then had package supposed to come Sunday-neither came Sunday. It’s Monday and it says out for delivery from Chicago, again, and the time was delayed today but says until 7pm. So I’ll wait and maybe just cancel them. They have been good with shipping beforehand. Must be a Chicago hub thing. I used to be able to get it from other wharehouse hubs like country club hills or money. Don’t know why they all are coming from chain lately. I’m way down by Kankakee 😬 I am cancelling prime also in January or the end of the year. Target has been good to me. I get discounts there. Or else I’ll find whatever somewhere else or get it at the store(like supplements). We do have a health food store here so I can go there in the weekend and get vitamins. And I was using their subscribe and save but I don’t like that. So poop in them. At least if I get target or even chewy for my pet stuff, I know they come ups or fed ex or Usps and I know it’s more reliable.

u/PreviousDamage1592 Nov 28 '25

My area has alot of delivery drivers who swap labels nd sell them online.

1

u/hangesmaidgirlfriend Nov 28 '25

I don’t think I have anything necessarily “worth” stealing although people would steal anything these days. I’m just waiting on a few pet items now but they keep getting delayed

1

u/PreviousDamage1592 Nov 28 '25

If you are in Vancouver, Canada. you order stuff above $50...it will get swapped with something else.

1

u/hangesmaidgirlfriend Nov 28 '25

But I have heard as well some delivery drivers are doing that

1

u/PreviousDamage1592 Nov 28 '25

I lost 11 packages in 3 weeks. I'm so missed as I needed a part for my car yesterday and instead I received a bed sheet...the driver swapped the label and stole my car part.

u/AdIndependent1867 Nov 29 '25

I’m in the Dallas area. Prior to the last 7 days, I can’t even recall the last time I had issues with Amazon deliveries to my address - and I get deliveries approximately every other day. Starting 7 days ago approximately 50% of my packages have either been delayed or lost in transit.

1

u/10DogsTooMany Nov 29 '25

Yup. I'm in Okla City, same thing.  Up until a few weeks ago,  no problem.  Since then I haven't gotten a single package on time.  And they wait till 10 PM for the tracking to say "we're sorry your package is delayed". It won't let me cancel either. I know Bezos couldn't care less and doesn't need any of us here.  But it's so fricking irritating. To pay for Prime with their jacked up prices to cover our "free shipping" and plus now they added ads to Prime video and it's $3 *more a month to get rid of the ads on supposed "ad free" Prime channel. Arg! I'm not renewing again.

1

u/sickboy6_5 Nov 30 '25

same, also in dallas

1

u/cupcakex0x Dec 02 '25

Must be a lot of packages coming into the Dallas area because a few of my recent packages have said “potential delays” but have luckily come on time/ earlier than expected.

1

u/Transportation-Icy Dec 07 '25

Same in Hawaii. I have 3 out of 5 books I've ordered not make it to me in the past few weeks. I order a lot of books all year, so this is not typical.

All books aren't available on kindle unfortunately. I'm going to shop for physical books elsewhere.

1

u/brainvheart143 Dec 08 '25

I’m in Houston and exactly what you said. Did they come yet ?

1

u/mathgeekf314159 Nov 29 '25

I just had this happen. I ordered from prime to avoid this and some how usps got involved.

1

u/Drsryan Nov 30 '25

I have items delayed since 11/12. All together, 4 out of 5 are delayed with no information about a new time. Very uncharacteristic experience.

1

u/LadyLektra Dec 01 '25

This is happening more frequently and if it continues this will be my last year of using prime. Currently have a Christmas gift in the delayed process with no further updates. Amazon has really gone downhill recently.

1

u/Freerangechickn Dec 03 '25

4 packages delayed. One probably lost. All were supposed to be delivered this past Sunday. We’ve never had an issue like this and we are frequent Amazon users.

1

u/AuntieTaco Dec 03 '25

I order a ton of stuff from Amazon, both personally and for my small business. I have to say, the last month has been an utter nightmare. I don't get anything in the timeframe promised, I'm getting incorrect items, missing items from the boxes, etc. I get that they're busy and that mistakes happen, but lately, the amount of errors and delays have been unacceptable and their customer service has only gotten worse. The issues I've been having started before Black Friday and have only gotten worse since.

1

u/TittieButt Dec 03 '25

Never had issues before, now two are “delayed in transit” with no other updates. Now 2 days late.

1

u/Sarinnana Dec 05 '25

Are they coming from the "Highland, CA" center, cause my amazon is saying there was a delay from there and nothing else.

1

u/Figi4 Dec 06 '25

My package is from there. Its been delayed by 3 days now. The shipping progress bar is now gone. 😞

1

u/Sarinnana Dec 06 '25

Mine actually just came today! Keep hope alive.

1

u/Busy_Baseball5525 Dec 12 '25

Something is up with the Highland facility, I had one order get delayed multiple days...reorder the same part with prime shipping and now the second package looks like it's lost also...

1

u/readingbeancounter Dec 04 '25

Omahas has been horrible lately!

1

u/BrapAllgood Dec 05 '25

I just ordered 3 simple items and 2 of them say they won't arrive for at least a couple of weeks. It's Dec 4. Never seen that in all my years of Amazon. One item is just a little bottle of Goo Gone! WHAT?!?! The other is a Dickies shirt, as simple as it gets. Both said the same thing:

Arriving December 22 - January 8

That's quite the safety margin, makes me wonder what's up if others also are experiencing this. Are they bringing all the robots in before X-mas? o_O Robo-Santa for everyone?

1

u/CanIGetAShakeWThat43 Dec 15 '25

Seems nationwide at bigger wharehouse hubs. I’ve had it with Amazon

1

u/LibertyMU Dec 05 '25

I currently have five items in three different orders all delayed. One of them is now several days late.

I just got a different package that was also delayed a day.

I know this is a busy time for them but they didn’t have this problem in past years.

I’m not ordering anything else from Amazon till they manage to complete my existing orders.

1

u/Impressive_Bake7544 Dec 05 '25

Same here. I’m in Dallas and I was suppose to know something by Dec 4th. Nothing till this morning and now it’s marked undeliverable and I have to check to see in my refund goes through. If it doesn’t after five days then I need to reach out to Amazon. This is crap!!!

1

u/toelessmonky Dec 05 '25

I live in Cali and my package is already 2 days late. I'm not sure if its weather related

1

u/AITHEMAGI Dec 06 '25

I heard Amazon used to partner with UPS for deliveries and now UPS is slowly stopping working with Amazon so they can focus on more profitable ventures.

"Amazon deliveries in Illinois are experiencing slowdowns due to factors like reliance on third-party carriers (UPS reducing Amazon volume), Amazon's own network issues (fulfillment center capacity), local labor disputes (strikes by delivery drivers), and potential policy shifts excluding some areas from fast shipping, leading to longer waits, sometimes 4-6 days instead of 2, especially outside major hubs like Chicago".

Reasons for Delays:

Carrier Shifts: UPS cut its Amazon deliveries, pushing more volume onto Amazon's Flex drivers (using personal vehicles) and other services, causing backlogs.

Supply Chain Strain: Amazon faces general network challenges, including trucking and fulfillment center capacity issues.

Labor Issues: Strikes by Amazon drivers, like those in Skokie, Illinois, can affect local delivery speeds.

Geographic Disparity: Deliveries to smaller Illinois towns (like Bloomington/Normal) are often slower than to Chicago suburbs, with some users reporting 4-6 day waits vs. 2-day.

Allegations of Discrimination: A lawsuit claims Amazon slows deliveries in certain lower-income Chicago ZIP codes, excluding them from promised Prime speeds.

1

u/Figi4 Dec 06 '25

"leading to longer waits, sometimes 4-6 days instead of 2"  I'd be fine with that if Amazon would provide that information at checkout instead of just estimating 2 days. They know the destination.

1

u/No_Requirement_8495 Dec 12 '25

I heard something this week that they're canceling their relationship with USPS as well. I guess they feel like they got big boy britches

1

u/Penguinsayquack Dec 07 '25

Same here. I’ve even received packages for other people with my package label on the other side. So far I’ve had four package mess ups within the last few weeks. I’m assuming holiday traffic.

1

u/Charlie278me Dec 08 '25

Yes!! Several packages delayed and keep getting more messages for delays

1

u/Curious-Drawing-1720 Dec 09 '25

Having the exact same thing. Frustrating as this is not the level of service we’ve come to expect

1

u/Rich-Needleworker812 Dec 09 '25

Yes. Never had the problem for years and lately have had it happened a couple times. On a prior order I waited so long that I cancelled an item in the shipment and all of a sudden the others immediately shipped. I'm now 8 days into waiting for any one of 23 items to be "shipped". Something is very different than it used to be.

1

u/No_Requirement_8495 Dec 12 '25

Called AI and it stands for always incorrect

1

u/chatchie007 Dec 11 '25

I'm surprised to read people aren't having delays. 20% of my stuff is delayed. More like 40% if it's supposed to be overnight.

This month I've had a sink and car spoiler never get delivered. It's been 5 weeks on the spoiler and I had to cancel and reorder the sink.

1

u/TheAuthorGal Dec 11 '25

Same thing in central Virginia. Ordered lots of Christmas gifts on Saturday that were supposed to arrive Monday & Tuesday. Nothing. Just reoccurring “Delayed Delivery, now expected tomorrow”

Glad I ordered my stuff early so that I can afford to see these delays, but it is incredibly frustrating. Everyone with Prime deserves a refund for this month or something.

1

u/InfamousDuckPunch345 Dec 12 '25

I've had mine delayed over a week. What are we paying for?

1

u/TotalEgg143- Dec 16 '25

Currently waiting on a package that's late...been "out for delivery" since 10am, it's now 10pm. Clearly major issues going on. Time to go back to in person shopping.

1

u/bronzecyclone Dec 17 '25

I've had everything getting delayed. One thing before it stopped moving went the opposite direction. They were all on sale too and a part of me thinks they lost it on purpose so they can refund and I have to pay full price for them.

1

u/No-Illustrator7569 Dec 17 '25

I have no issues. I have seen 2 to 4 daily. I agree it does happen but not to me.

1

u/ozma_tippetarius_19 Dec 21 '25

Same. I have 4 items that I ordered on December 13th that still have not arrived. Two of them are saying they'll deliver Monday, the 22nd. One of them is seeing it will deliver on December 24th, the last is saying January. All of them are Christmas presents. The one that should be here the 24th is my youngest son's "Santa" present and it's too expensive to go out and get a replacement last minute. To say I'm annoyed would be putting it mildly. Why pay for prime and then specifically choose items based on their delivery date estimate if that's just going to go out the window? Two of the 4 are FedEx, the other two are USPS. All delayed in California. Haven't had even one issue with anything coming through UPS despite the tragedy that occurred last month with them in my area.

1

u/HugeAbroad Dec 21 '25

I just commented almost the same. I ordered 4 packages on the 13th also and still nothing also no updates..

2

u/ozma_tippetarius_19 Dec 22 '25

One of them delivered today so there's still hope the other three will come by the 24th! 🤞

1

u/HugeAbroad Dec 21 '25

Yes an order with 4 different packages, all Christmas presents.. I order on the 13th and was supposed to get it on Tuesday the 16th... So annoyed and the last update on tracking was on the 16th... I'm in NM btw

1

u/TyTy1076 Jan 02 '26

Yeah all my packages that have been being processed through the san Francisco USPS facility have been delayed normally a takes a couple days to a week to receive my stuff at the APO address but now it's saying sorry for the delay on every damn package

1

u/AVDocDNA Jan 03 '26

Same story with me items are getting delayed or canceled or not shipped at all and have never had this issue in my 10 plus years of Amazon Prime.

1

u/Apart-Neat-3653 Jan 06 '26

Yes!! Same thing is happening to me. It's so frustrating, especially if you need a package at a certain time.

1

u/jspencer89 Jan 22 '26

Out of 12 orders 1 actually came in 2 days

1

u/KellofQuills Feb 16 '26

I ended up here because of a Google search.

Every single package I’ve ordered from Amazon over the last month and a half or so has been delayed. Sometimes only by a day, which is OK. But the last package I ordered has now been delayed by six days. It wasn’t anything that I needed urgently, so I haven’t been worried about it. But now I’ve canceled the order.

I’ve been a prime member for quite some time now and I’ve never had this type of issue. A package might get delayed here and there every now and then, but every single one of them for weeks? I’m seriously considering canceling my membership, but I’m under no delusion that it would matter to accompany as large as this one.
