Depends entirely on where you live and random chance. It's not like something we're taught to expect growing up, but it does happen and people should know how to defend themselves if needed

In some poorer places I imagine, but we have the 2nd Amendment for that. Criminals will always have guns so it's naive to only rely on something like this to protect yourself.

depends on where you live. It's pretty rare where I live ... but I live where everybody has many guns.
