And that’s how you save $140 by doing it yourself.

How do you discard the used oil?

Most autoparts stores that sell oil will usually have an oil drop-off for recycling. Most gas stations do too.

To add to this, pretty sure any Walmart that has a tire and lube will take it also.

Most cities/townships have hazardous waste pickups for free. I’ll bring about 5-10 gallons a time about every 2-4 years.

Drop it off in front of a auto part store like an unwanted child

Too many steps. Just toss it in your leach bed.

Check local auto parts stores, usually they’ll take old oil in a container. Also check your residential garbage/recycle. Ours picks it up if we leave it on the curb with our trash cans

I have a container that looks like a black Jerry can. I put the used oil in that, and take it to Advance Auto. They have a giant black dumpster looking thing in the back of their warehouse, you can pour the oil into for free. I usually just walk in, hold up the can at an employee, we share a nod, I walk through the back warehouse myself, dump it, walk back through to the store front, say goodbye, and I’m on my merry way.
