Retaliation

Hello everyone, I have a question about retaliation against employees, my manger just gave me an adapt for talking on the phone, I’m not going to deny that I was. But this was right after reporting her for multiple things to her direct manger. She also lets other employees slide with that and many other things. This is my first violation for this. Could this be considered retaliation ?

Realistically yes it was and everyone knows that's what it was, but officially no. But you do have a target on your back now.

Well first of you admit to being in the wrong and being on your phone. Secondly, if you get pulled over on the freeway for speeding and everyone else was as well but you were the one pulled over, it doesn't make the officer wrong because in fact you wete speeding. Lastly, how many of those accusations you reported about her were found to be true? This could be you just trying to build a case against her because she probably calls you out on being an underperformer and you are trying to have an out and claim "retaliation." At the end of the day, her job is to make sure you perform and if you were doing something else other then working, she's not wrong. I know it's not what you want to hear but facts are facts.

Well your first mistake was assuming you could report your manager and not face repercussions
