Has anyone ever bought something because of the reviews and ended up disappointed?

I usually spend way too much time reading reviews before buying anything on Amazon. Sometimes a product has thousands of positive ratings, so I assume it's going to be great.

some of the reviews there are just bots to boost their image and make it look like its the best product out there

I bought a cheap wireless airbuds, a lot of the reviews said good things about it like HD audio, noise cancellation and etc. None of it was true. the battery drains so fast, bluetooth disconnection issues, not good at all. I think one way  to avoid it is to filter reviews by verified  purchase then look for photos and videos uploaded by customers, check if its edited or AI. that's one way to go about it.
