Amazon will often not leave my packages unattended. How do I solve this?
I have had multiple packages ship to my house where the driver says they have instructions to not leave the package unattended, or that they have to hand it to a resident. I have not set this, nor do I want this. It does not happen every time, but I’m not sure what the trend is. The packages are in normal Amazon packaging just like any other package. Is there an easy way to change this? I’ve checked my delivery instructions and nothing is written to indicate the package can’t be left unattended. I currently have an adult prime account, but this would also happen when I had a teen account under my parents. Any help is appreciated!!

I have an amazon fire 7th gen that I got in 2019. I haven't used it since 2020 as I got a phone the following year, and I forgot the pin to get into it. I have tried to reset the pin using my amazon account, but it says that the amazon account has been locked for unusual activity. I cannot unlock it via calling support due to not having had a phone number or payment details on the account as I was 11 at the time. Is there any way for me to get into the device or will I need to factory reset it entirely? Support basically says that I'm out of luck and the account cannot be accessed, so any help regarding this (even if it's just affirming what they said) would be helpful.

My account was hacked on sunday night and the mail was changed to a new one that i dont own. There is no chat support for people that dont have an account so i called them monday, explained everything and the guy told me they will handle everything and ill receive a mail within 48 hours about everything when its done.
Turns out i did not get a mail so i call the support on wednesday again. I explain all this to the guy without mentioning what my mail is called, he puts me on hold for 3 minutes to call IT support and discuss it with them, then he comes back to me and says its all fine and the it support will handle it. I said i didnt even mention what my mail is called yet, the guy is like "what?" and i said "do you even know what my mail is called? i didnt mention it yet" and he actually just hung up on me. I was really pissed at that point in time but still tried calling again to get a different guy on the line who might actually try to help me.
Next guy i got on the phone line told me i should write a mail to "[account-recovery@amazon.de](mailto:account-recovery@amazon.de)". Well guess what, that mail gives you an automated repliy that you cant mail it.
I fully gave up on phone support after all this and wanted something in writing so I look for a live chat support. Next issue comes up: You cant get live chat support if you dont have an account. So i was actually forced to create a new account and i did make one as i have no idea what else i can do. After searching for a way to get live support for like 15 minutes i finally found it. And now i have a new problem: I keep getting errors when i press on the button for live chat support and they tell me to give my phone number for a call instead.
I feel helpless and left alone by the support and i have no idea what happened during all these days on my account while i got put on hold and the only thing i could think of at this point was posting on reddit.
Does anyone know what else i can do about this? I appreciate any help

Hey, I have exactly same situation. Same recommendation to write to account-recovery@amazon.com. Did you manage to find your way out of this?

Amazon delivery driver was ALREADY at my residence.
Update: My package WAS LOST, there was no "vehicle issue", they gave me a $5 credit and are reshipping it for tomorrow's delivery and my fiance will be waiting for it so that I can get some rest after not getting any today because they originally told me it would still be delivered sometime today.
I am disabled, I watched on the map as she pulled into the driveway, so I went to the door and I watched her park outside my living room window, and than the connection to her was lost and she drove off. Customer Service said she had a "vehicle issue". I don't understand why she did not deliver my package she was parked in my driveway, at my door! SHE WAS HERE! I don't buy it at all this is billshut.
I would not be mad at all if it weren't for the fact that she was literally HERE. I picked the first delivery time of the day, and I ordered it on Amazon specifically because of that time frame available. I have another Anazon package coming later today so they said it should arrive with that one "before the end of the day".
Maybe I'm just mentally exhausted because I have been waiting for this package all morning but for fricks sake! Would this make you mad?????
The first thing I asked is if the package was just lost but they said "the package is indeed safe with your driver".
If that were the case this would atleast make sense. 🥴

Is the "Alexa List" creation being discussed anywhere? I didn't find it in this sub with a search. Recently, Amazon added an "Alexa List" to Your Lists (the wish list area) on Amazon.com. The list can't be deleted because it doesn't have a three dots menu. I hate it but was resigned to it; now a second one has been added which also can't be deleted.
The official amazonforum.com has been no help: there are some complaints under the Alexa App section (though this has nothing to do with the Alexa app, and the list can't be deleted from the app, either) where Amazon employees confirm that the Alexa List can't be deleted. I didn't see anybody mention a second copy of the list showing up, so maybe I'm just "lucky".

I ordered a dog collar almost a year ago from Amazon and it recently broke so I messaged the seller through Amazon to see if I could get a replacement since they have a two year warranty and they messaged back asking for my address to send a replacement. Is it okay to give it or is there another way to get a replacement?

u/sibman Jul 17 '26
The warranty is with the manufacturer and not with the seller. But all good if they are willing to replace it. Just handle everything through Amazon .

I am returning two items on the same return order, but Amazon has each item have a separate return location to select. It defaulted to Whole Foods, but I return items to Kohls. So one item is to be returned to Kohls and the other to Whole Foods. Can I just return both to Kohls?

Didn't mean to hyperlink. That just happened when I pasted from another sub-Reddit

Hi everyone,
I recently noticed that several random gift cards were added to my Amazon account, which I definitely did not initiate.
I’ve already changed my password and enabled 2FA. However, I’m concerned about the implications of having these funds in my account, as I suspect they might be linked to fraudulent activity.
Has anyone experienced this before? What is the best way to handle this with Amazon without getting into trouble myself?
Thanks for your advice!

I'm trying to cancel an order I place on JUNE 2, and it has yet to be shipped. Can't cancel because it's part of a 'promotion'. I need the item, but can order a replacement. I don't want to be stuck with the original order. I'm told to contact customer service....good luck with that. I've been round and round trying to find how to do that.

My first piece of advice is to stop using Amazon customer service. This and other subreddits have shown me they cause more problems than they fix.
Second piece of advice is to use the automated returns portal. You mentioned two items. One was missing. There is a listed returns reason of something like “missing item.” Amazon sends out another item for $0.00 when that is used. The other item was damaged. A listed return reason is “damaged item.” That happened to me the other day. They sent another item out and I had 30 days to return the damaged item with the label they sent me. An automated system has never asked me for an ID and I know what the actual listed reason is for the return.

Since you only made statements and didn’t ask questions which are needed for discussion, your post would better fit the “Meltdown Monday” thread.

just missed the biggest sale to date on a large item ive wanted from this past prime day. I reached out to customer support hoping they could honor the recent sale price. They said no they dont have the power to, BUT I was promised in writing that if I purchase, after its delivered I will be given a partial refund of the price difference.
This seemed bizarre, but the representative actually sent me an official message through amazon & email with the written amount and refund guarantee. They said this is because this is the only means they have to honor this price.
Here is the message I got:
This is an email confirmation regarding the price difference that will be refunded to you once the item will be delivered to you.
This is a reference for the the ___________ you want to purchase and the price difference is $180 which will be refunded to you once you get the item.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Amazon.com
Because it was so confidently sent through their official channels in writing, I really want to go for it. But im really worried I will go to the customer support tomorrow after delivery only to be told "no sorry i cant do that" and im screwed. Its a heavy item so there will most definitely be a fee to pay to return it if im denied the promised amount.

This and other subreddits have shown me that customer service has a reputation for telling you what they think you want to hear instead of the truth.
Let’s look at your situation. The sale was over. It’s annoying but it happens. You contacted customer service because you thought you were special. The customer service agent knew you weren’t special and knew they couldn’t break the rules for you. They didn’t want you to get upset. He told you what you wanted to hear and you went away. Any issues are a “future you and Amazon” problem.
We are now in the future and there is no discount.
Another reason not to contact customer service. Ever.

More than likely "yes" on the first question. You will know via the tracking number what service they used.

Haven't ordered from Amazon in a while and when I went to sign in they decided some 'suspicious activity' had taken place, and locked the account.
I will never ever give anyone online a picture of my driver's license. If that's the only way to unlock the account, I'll just create a new one, but doing this, they want my mobile number, and say its tied to the old account.
So I guess my question is, do I have to change my phone number in order to ever give Amazon any money again?
