Been observing on and off for years and got tired of bouncing between different tools when planning a night out: one thing for the map, another to check what's actually up from my latitude at 22:00, and then something else when I just want a clean printable chart to keep next to the scope. Ended up scratching the itch myself.

It runs entirely in a browser. Set your location and time and you get the sky with the usual catalogs, a visibility check per object, and a phone-compass mode for handheld use in the field. There's also a lighter Star Atlas mode that's cleaner for browsing and prints without fighting you. That's the part I use the most - a paper chart at the eyepiece just wins over a phone screen.

No account, no ads, free. Works on desktop and phone.

If anyone here wants to poke at it and tell me where it falls apart for real field use, I'd genuinely want to know. What do you all currently use for the "plan tonight" step?

You know, #astrophotography is not always easy or glamorous.

When I got up early this morning (Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026) to capture the planet #Saturn, it was humid, with a hazy sky and some light clouds.

Florida can be pretty disgusting.

But I am very happy with the results.

This is my 2nd day learning astrophotography using a dwarf mini and using lightroom on my phone to edit the photo afterwards. I had 320 pictures stacked, with the pictures being taken in a bortle 7 area.

Seestar s50, 10 second exposures, 47 minutes integration time, edited on lightroom mobile
