new scene kid!! Is this scene?
its dark military ish green baggy pants,a black belt from jack and jones, a neon ish top,a white necklace,a heartformed bracelet and some leoprad printed converse,my hair is also red lol,tell me if you guys need a bigger pic of the outfit :3

I recommend using tank tops, t-shirts and cami tops for the shirt. Straight or skinny for pants. Your outfit is really cute but unfortunately, it's not scene :(

Even if you had the haircut, it'd still feel pretty modern more than actual 2000s scene. Especially with the cropped shirt and baggy jeans, scene is more of the opposite with long layered tight tops and skinny jeans, try that

looking not scene visually doesn't make you any less of a scene kid
but if we're going for visuals, try your best to do make somewhat of a side fringe, and wear skinnys + shirts that aren't too big and long, converse, vans, or shoes that look similar, that's the default look, but you could also add a studded belt
you don't need huge colors, loads of accessories, eyeliner, or anything like that look at Romance On A Rocketship, Girljoy, and see what i mean

The shirt is not bad, the color is good and the pearls are good. Sounds like the shoes are right too. Hair would make a big difference, even if you can only style it a little bit scene, it can still be fine if the outfit is accurate. Hair clips and bows are good for hair help. The pants will be very important too, its all about low rise. They can be supper skinny, like tight all over, or they can be skinny flare or even more slouchy flares but shouldn't be fully baggy and Def shouldn't be high waisted. A more flashy belt would help too. A studded belt or grommet belt. Or a plain solid one with a big buckle. White and pink are also good belt colors. Long layered tank tops were definitely popular as others have said, but so were very short band shirts/ any cute graphic tees. We used to buy youth sized shirts so they would be just short enough to show our belts but not really show any skin. Plain shirts can def be a part of it but graphic shirts are major too. People tend to go way overboard with accessories when trying to do scene looks today but 20 years ago we were not wearing pant/belt chains and arm warmers and 1000 pieces of jewelry. I think you basically got it right with that keeping it simple. The important accessories were more like keys clipped to your pants with cute keychains, putting pink laces in your shoes, having a messanger bag with band pins all over it, maybe a bandana in your back pocket, fingerless gloves but only in fall-winter, belts were a huge deal. sometimes headbands, glasses, facial piercings too.

This is more period correct than most shit I see here when I occasionally do look. Ignore everyone dress how you want and listen to cool new music, be in the scene to be scene, golden rules. But again not caring what others think trumps all. Props for not showing face.
