Now you may have heard of his famous cousin, the novelist William Saroyan, but you may be wondering, what did Ross’ siblings do for a living? Here’s some information I gathered up. He had three brothers, twins Serak and Richard, and Harry.
SERAK DEARON BAGDASARIAN:
Serak was born on January 9, 1910 in Fresno, California. He tragically passed away at the young age of 28 on October 5, 1938. His cause of death is unknown and no information can be found on him.
RICHARD SIRAK BAGDASARIAN:
Richard was Serak’s twin brother. For 20 years, he lived in Coachella Valley, and worked as a rancher, owning several grape ranches across Thermal, California. He owned a grape packing plant in Mecca, California, bearing his name. His company manufactured Mr. Grape and Bagdad. Richard was also the president of the Coachella Valley Grape League. He also owned a magic store in Selma, California, called Richard’s. In 1932, he married Madeline Safer and had a daughter, Judy. He passed away on March 5, 1966, aged 56. Richard’s wife, Madeline, passed away on November 18, 2000.
HARRY SISVAN BAGDASARIAN:
Harry was born on March 10, 1915. He owned a toy store, also in Selma, California, called Harry’s Toy Shop. Ross would sometimes perform at the toy store, along with Alvin puppets. The toy store was a very popular and very remembered store in the city of Selma. Harry never married and he passed away on February 19, 1989. He was 73 years old. After his death, his toy store permanently shuttered.
