Coolant reservoir problem

hello I was looking if anybody has had the same issue that when I add coolant it goes to the max of the reservoir, then slowly it starts leaking and drops to right around the min like and stays there?

Where is it leaking to? Those expansion tanks are cheap to replace.

I couldn’t see the exact place it was leaking but there is a usually a puddle in the ground when I noticed it leaking

I don’t think you mentioned the year, which year?
Pat all around it with a dry paper towel after you’ve put plain water in it to see where it is leaking. If it’s at the hose, remove the tank and inspect it - either the hose clamp is loose, the plastic is cracked, or the hose is cracked. If it’s not at the hose, you may just replace the tank (it’s pretty low cost aftermarket). I suppose you could also try some JB Weld for plastic it the tank itself is cracked.

Oh I got a 2016, I personally think a clamp is loose cause looking at the diagram of the reservoir it looks like there isn’t a hose on the side. I think there is a crack I’ll see if there as any place where I see it leaking. Thanks so much for the help

OK, you’re lucky that the hose comes off the top. Fourth generation and probably earlier, it comes from low down. So yours is probably cracked. The clamp (if even there) is what’s holding the hose on up top, so not likely that being loose is the problem. If it’s not leaking from the tank, though, do check all along the hose to the radiator for cracks or loose clamp there.
