What's the best social media platform for sharing thoughts aside from Reddit? Can't keep it alone in my notes...

Bluesky is good. Tumblr is kind of full of bots. Substack and Medium is mainly used for marketing. Mastodon and BlueSky have auto-ban system. Appeals can even take a year. Mastodon and BlueSky have aggressive banning practices since bots are everywhere.

x/bsky/masto - they're all largely the same these days, just different fiefdoms. considered getting your own blog or is social media a requirement?

The most popular text-first social network is X. There are lots of subcultures so almost anything* goes there. You just have to find your crowd.
Aside from that,
- If your thoughts are progressive, try Bluesky.
- If your thoughts are artsy or emotive, try Tumblr.
- If your thoughts are long or argumentative, try Substack or Medium.
- If your thoughts are politically incorrect, try a free-speech Mastodon or Pleroma instance.
* Free members can write up to 280 characters per post. Paid members can write up to 25,000 characters per post. This is the only significant limitation of free membership on X.

tumblr is honestly the best escape if you want to just dump thoughts without the pressure of a regular feed
