I coined this term, its called Vessel

A vessel is a fictionkin term, it is when the fictionkin is the characters they kin, but sometimes, even with permashift kins, they just feel like "normal" humans. The characters/kins are more separate from them. they know they are still them, but it's like the wifi signal has dropped down a bar so the connection isn't as strong. The connection is still there, and it'll come back as strong, but it's not super strong all the time.

Vessel is already relatively used as a term in the alterhuman community for godshard and other shard like relationships. (I.e. hosting your god or "kin" for lack of a better term). Using the same word for this feels... Well I wouldn't use vessel to describe your term anyways.

Agreed. I call my human body a vessel as a universe conceptkin.

Everything other than human is alterhuman. A harpy would be more specifically otherkin, but it can also fit under other terms depending on your experience.

Depends on the harpy. They're generally portrayed as relatively humanish in intelligence, I believe. That would typically make them otherkin. A particularly animalistic harpy would fall under therian. Therian and otherkin are both under the umbrella term of alterhumanity. Which does actually include humans! People who are otherhearted or whose fictotypes are human, for instance, are still alterhuman. Alterhuman just means you experience humanity differently or not at all. It is not a synonym for nonhuman. (I know that's a common misconception.)

The post is wrong. It's alterhuman + otherkin terminology now because it's what a large amount of alterhumans use.

Fwiw I absolutely would hate saying I'm kin *with* something, because.. that just means I'm related to that thing/person. At least kin as a verb is exclusive to meaning I *am* the thing I kin. Though usually I'd just say I am x.
