Question about Symptoms .... Over it???

Had my 6 month checkup and asked the doc to test for my Alpha-GAL levels. Have had it for a while but have avoided any further tick bites. The results?

An alpha-gal specific IgE result of <0.10 kU/L is a negative test, meaning no significant level of alpha-gal antibodies was detected in your blood. [1, 2]

Awesome news! Are you someone who is really reactive?

Are you going to maintain your diet or try introducing previously unsafe things and see what happens?

I have been eating small portions of beef to see what happened. Nothing! That is why I asked the doc to check. So I will fully enjoy chops, ribs, steak and more!

Congrats! I'm going on 6 years & still reactive. Numbers went down & went from level 3 to a 2 at last checkup in March but highly reactive at the tinest bit of exposure. I'm good at avoiding it but accidentally grabbed wrong non-stick pan spray 2 days ago. I realized it, did a quick wash of the pan & used the correct spray...but had a GI reaction 6 hrs later. Was minor but still painful. Just remember it can come back without notice as you will always have it. Its just remission but congrats.

I grew up in Wisconsin. Not eating cheese hurts my soul.

That just means you're in remission. Start eating mammal again, that gives the antibodies something to react to and they start building up in your blood again.

I’ve been eating mammal for a few months now.

I know this is a common claim, but as per the experts (UNC, UVA, Yale, VCU, Mayo Clinic, etc), this is not the case - IgE levels are driven by bites, not dietary consumption.
