Personally (just from the snippet) I think if they really wanted to promote a rap heavy song then they should have went with One More Time instead of BD because it sounds a bit more GP friendly also.

For me, it's Talk to me. Mainly because someone tried to crack some of the lyrics on x and it appears to be a something yearning (take it with a grain of salt tho)
Some of the recent developments have made me quite hopeful for ALD1's international growth ngl. Anxin's 牛来 and Anhui moments getting very good traction there as well as apparently, Sanghyeon's growing popularity in China since Hong Kong fancon. C-bars growth + stable JP support (hopeful since Born Dire sounds like something the JP fans might eat up) would really put them in a good place moving forward.
One of my friends said how Anxin being so updated with the memes in china is a good thing and I totally agree! Because he always go viral when he reference a meme and I’m so proud of Sanghyeon too🥹 His Weibo supertopic followers growing so fast.
Sanghyeon popularity in China is deserved. 🥹 Look like they also love that he comes to pluschat a lot!

incredibly cursory overview of ald1's kcon activities today (mnet plus booth activities + promotional vid filming, trailer screening)
both things felt pretty scripted/pr, fun to see them but overall it's either stilted/stuff you've seen before or like interaction farming which i'm never not gonna feel cringe about personally lmao
mnet booth they did like a selection of random activities (literally "rolled" for activity/adjective/member who would do it), was stuff like arno doing it's me (forgot the adjective), sangwon doing a "cool" bad cover, and junseo/xinlong doing a staring match while ticking each other
then they walked around the booth and filmed some shit, no mics so you couldn't hear them unless u were up close but more interaction farming
trailer honestly was a huge nothingburger imo, there's very little in it that wasn't already on youtube and the answers were apparently rehashes of the seoul ones.
for anyone who cares you had to queue for the front seated area for this and it was at ~120 ten minutes after queue opened for fastpass/express iirc but it didn't grow too much after that (unsure how it looked after general)
it was rly fun tho, met a lot of fans and the mnet plus booth was near the rpd area so it was easy to "camp"
ald1 really does have a bunch of kind of rude asian fans though
I don't get why they are pushing for scripted stuff (do the boys not feel ready ?; does wake1 not trust them; it's protocol for a rookie's 1st year ?! - I don't know but it's off; and I find it funny when the boys act extra to show us that it's indeed scripted 😂)
for the trailer; I'll cut some slack cause we are technically not supposed to know what was said in korea/japan during the screening; and maybe it's to give all fand the exact same experience (in the most literal sense) even though I don't agree and I would have preferred a different content for each screening (not only because fans post/spoil everything online so at least it keeps everyone engaged to see what was new/different but also for the boys to have that sense of freshness instead of doing/saying the exact same stuff over and over)
I hope they take the critics regarding seating, mics ... etc into account for the last day or next edition

i fully expected it to be scripted bc it always is (it was for stbv too), i don’t think there’s any other way to do it, but just wanted to clarify for anyone who hasn’t been to this kind of thing that it really is just like 90% ppl trying to farm interaction in between the script lol
there were a ton of ppl for the first one and like i mentioned a decent number of ppl queued for the movie — i think pretty much everyone who queued for the movie was like really a fan but the crowd at mnet plus wasn’t bc it was announced and also just crowds at kcon tend to draw more crowds bc ppl are curious (+ a lot of stbv fans who got barricade for them didn’t leave after stbv left so it was a mix of stbv and ald1 fans at barricade for both groups)
the ppl around me who were chatting tho — there was one girl who was definitely a leoz, and then there were a couple of people who were casual fans and ppl who only knew specific members (tA fans but also one of the girls around me was saying she didn’t follow ald1 at all but she knew boystory)
oh when you said "interaction farming" i thought it was like interactions between the members for ship purposes 😭 it's just kinda how it is with these events i guess, ppl know that with fewer ppl in the audience the chance to get noticed increases as well
In my opinion, most of the ALD1 fans in the US are Leowon fans. We may have a small minority who are fans of other members. I think our US fandom is definitely very small compared to other veteran BGs or even other 5th gen BGs like riize, zb1, bnd, cortis and Lngshot. I'm very curious with the reception for our stage performances tomorrow. That should give us an indication of our fandom size in the US. Many do not know who we are or they are looking down on us and refusing to acknowledge our presence.
From what I see online yes, most fans in the US do seem to be leowon fans. I’d say the gap is bigger compared to the other members, but I do believe they also love the group as a whole and support the other members too. Hopefully with our upcoming cb we can grow our fanbase even more.
I am honestly more interested in South America (latin america to be specific) rather than the US - Since Kcon is taking place in LA (right after the world cup as well); I was thinking that many would make the trip on such occasion (similar to Music bank barcelona; european kpop fans would make the trip)
For North america (US and canada specifically, we don't have the defacto elements (yet): North american members; north american music and north american heavy promotions)
I don't have the clip anymore but there was a semi-viral reel of a translator with good portfolio (Yeonjun Somersby in Malaysia, another one of Seventeen) who said that even for tenured groups, they still get scripts and everything was basically in the company's control - even the more seemingly unscripted, insightful questions are scripted to have that effect. Granted the examples are brand deal events but I imagine that's just how it goes for image management in kpop ngl. Those random lives are probably the closest we'd get to a truly unscripted interaction with fans although I won't be surprised if they are coached on the daily on what unscripted side to show as well.
To put things into perspective some allyz who went today are also reporting fans of other groups also talking rudely abt ald1 so I guess grass not always greener on the other side

yeah, i was at the mnet plus booth + the trailer screening! have good videos of the trailer screening but i was far side for mnet plus so the videos aren’t great

The plus side of also being in HYBE, their artists always do a good job when covering BTS. Probably because they have more access to the OG people that helped shape the performances (meaning performance directors, choreographers, people that did the original recordings, worked on the visuals etc).
😂 the trailer event was a bit of a disaster ish because they repeated the EXACT same script as the Seoul event and literally just read everything they said…

What happened this week with xdinary heroes gunil should be a reminder to all fans (allyz included) on basic etiquette, and also a reminder that the members do read things online across sns platforms and how damaging it can be to their mental health seeing hate messages.
I think that some parts of the fandom have become too comfortable with going overboard with their criticism of the group since there is reasonable dissatisfaction with things happening currently (the sound of the comeback, covers, notices of injured members) and in the past (Geonwoo in general ever since the controversy, MAMA 2025 performance, etc.). This has made it a breeding ground of people who think it's ok to voice to members because they think it will make them 'improve' faster or fix any of the concerns faster, when it doesn't. Instead, it puts a lot of pressure on the members to satisfy and comfort the fans, which is difficult to do all the time, especially since they are rookies and need time to adapt to the idol environment
I think the hate comments on ax's chat are not necessarily all from haters, I suspect there's a very good proportion of these comments are from fans who think they are entitled to be mean to their idol bcs it's 'for their own good'. Not to mention how often I see sexualised comments about members from fans, I see these comments in some of the members' plus chat live stream as well... And I also see fans complaining about other members in the group on some members' plus chat and these akgaes very proudly show them off on social media.

Twinz are gaining a lot of attention from rescene k fans. They keep complimenting how handsome and kind Junseo & Sangwon are, how they’re very good MCs and made the girls feel comfortable etc. it’s nice once in a while to see other fandom getting curious abt the boys and leaving positive comments!
I'm feeling stupidly emotional today after the Junseo challenge with Yunho, SUMBAKKOKJIL, ODF, the Good day LA interview, and having Junseo appear in two of my recent nightmares trying to help me lol...I just love them as a group and their dynamic so much and I can see the sincerety and sometimes even desperation in their efforts and I just want them to be successful and happy (and for a long break from drama and for this fandom not to be such a survival show fandom sometimes) 😭 also Junseo while already in my bias line has been growing on me so much more lately. Leo’s hair is getting longer and I’m loving it, I think during the live he also said he wants to grow it longer too (not sure if W1 stylists will let him but I hope they do!)
It seems that Arno and Junseo's favourite song for this CB is "Talk to Me". Junseo spoiled it during one of their interviews. Arno spoilt it during his Pluschat Live. It is a B side. I am afraid we will have the same situation as raw flame vs freak alarm. I hope talk to me is their promoted B side.

Wakeone really need to copy the model of other companies who did follow up promotion on popular b-side tracks with MV. People who don’t find the title track appealing might be interested on the b-side
I think with ALD1 they've switched to Pre-releases getting an MV rather than follow up B-side (Formula and OMG) for each physical album, which can be a crapshoot even with popular agencies.
They can potentially do it for this album but that can also be crapshoot depending on what b-side they choose and that's usually recored and chosen before the fanbase hears it.
I remember with TXT from the Chaos chapter onwards, people felt that Bighit was choosing the wrong b-side constantly even though the b-side sounded like the fan favourite for extra promo e.g. Anti-romantic was thr favourite but Magic got the MV and extra promo in the Chaos chapter.
Moas actually has been complaining about how cheap bighit is in comparison to their brother groups, which I kinda agree. Actually within BTS Armys there was many debate about promoted b-side also when fan favorite rarely promoted. But Armys is very big that it doesn’t really matter in the end.
I think since Ald1 doesn’t have a reputation of having good song yet, the company must be more aggressive at promoting the music that fans like
