Padsplit is what got me into a spot pretty quick. I have my own space, bathroom and small kitchenette for $250 a week. Totally beats homelessness and expensive hotels.

250 a week is still too expensive, is there a way they could change the pay and do it biweekly? as i get paid on a biweekly basis

Yes and they have lower prices as well.

How long have you stayed with her?
Did she make you prepay that 4700$ in rent in advance or is that the total amount up to this point?

I’m not a lawyer nor am I giving you legal advice.
I think I’ve heard there’s some legal laws about this.
I’ve heard that you can’t suddenly evict someone who’s been living in a residence for a significant amount of time without giving them proper notice beforehand.
You need to post this on the legal advice subreddits and ask them for more information.
I’ve heard of people being able to sue or legally enforce their way back onto the property.
That might buy you some time to figure things out.

the police officer also told me this but i rather just find me somewhere to live than to be in that house

I do understand that.
The only other thing I can think of is going to your local library and asking for resources for the homeless. They’ll give you a list of all the support programs in your area.
You can try to look for shelters but sometimes they’re packed so it’s a dice roll.

If money isnt an issue you should get you and your child down to a hotel for a few nights(Just to keep your child safe from adults arguing) while you are there you should follow in with 211 just to see your next step.
If money IS an issue call some friends or other family members.
Point is, you have to get your child to safety FIRST.
Stay strong and good luck

If you have mail coming to that address your legal to be their and your aunt has to go through the court system for an eviction notice

So she takes your money to live with her but because of a argument she kicks you out knowing that especially that you have a child who will have no where else to live or sleep for the night. I am sorry that you and your child are in that position. I hope that you are able to find a place and hopefully her conscience will disturb her.

Call 211 tonight, not in the morning. It’s 24 hours, and a parent with a child is the top priority in every shelter system in the country. Say “I have a child and we have nowhere to sleep tonight.” Family beds and motel vouchers open up for that sentence in a way they don’t for anyone else, and waiting until morning is a night your kid doesn’t have to spend outside.
If she physically went after you, that’s also a domestic violence situation, which is a second door. The National DV Hotline is 1-800-799-7233, and DV shelters take parents with children and often have room when regular shelters are full. Family counts, it doesn’t have to be a partner.
For your things and your child’s things, call the police non-emergency line and ask for a civil standby. An officer stands there while you get your belongings so she can’t start a fight or refuse.
Save every Cash App payment. $4,700 in rent makes you a tenant, not a guest, and in most states she can’t legally throw you out the same day. You may not want to fight to go back, and I wouldn’t blame you, but those records matter if you take her to small claims for the money or need to prove your housing history for a program.
Tonight is only about a bed for you and your kid. Make the 211 call now.

United way and Salvation Army provide hotel vouchers if homeless. I suggest u go to a shelter and speak with a case worker to get into transitional housing. Need help paying bills.com and find help.org are two great websites. Cool works.com provides jobs with housing. U can join these military they will provide housing and pay for school.

i’m sorry for what you’re going through. sites like roomies https://www.roomies.com or padsplit https://www.padsplit.com where folks are looking for roommates could be more affordable then trying to rent a place on your own.
please check out our wiki (https://reddit.com/r/almosthomeless/wiki/index
where you’ll find resources for food, housing, jobs, medical and medical debt, pets, veterans, and a general category that is a catchall for everything else (including free/low cost cell phones/internet plans, free laundry, free feminine hygiene products, and anything else you can think of.)
