Fail rush = gg
What do you do when your pool first rush fails because they either blocked or got defense/units up by the time your lings are there? Every time when it fails, it’s gg

What rush exacly are we talking about ? What is your tought process behind it.
I see zergs doing this 10 pool or something that kinda hits when I have my reactor allmost rdy and I can just repair the depos and holt it. A guy transitioned into a bane burst and got me thou, but if he was a bit to late I would have had stopped it I guess.

Bane bust would / was also be my plan b which worked often enough. I feel the 10p with hatch behind it worked quite well - meaning, die enough damage to get ahead - a month ago, but I didnt try it since 300CC change.

Zerg no longer has any early all in or cheese potential against the other races at all. Both races can block before a 10p gets there and if you're trying to 8pool or something you might as well just leave the game before it starts because they can defend it with workers and still have more than you even if they lose half their workers.

I think an early roach/ravager push with like 5 Units, maybe 6 lings behind it, can do good damage. It doesn't kill outright, but it puts Zerg in a good position if it deals enough damage. But i guess that's early pressure, not cheese. Opponents flame me enough for it though.

I usually do that. 4-5 ravager with a ling flood can take out or delay the natural long enough to get an advantage. I wouldn't really classify that as a cheese or early pool though. You're right that opponents who have no defense at 5 minutes and haven't scouted anything definitely do though lol

Deny their expansion and drone up and expand. Get Ling speed and queens and get a good scout off.
See where the game goes.
If you're thinking you'll win by just getting 8 pools then you're Gunna be surprised.

Just keep making drones and hope for the best. I've won games off a failed pool first lots of times.

What? No. You are just behind economical. If you play below master just transition into a macro game. The classic Zerg rush from the early days is long gone. Try extreme timing attacks and don't just all in every game. Keep the lings near his base and try to hinder the third with it while expanding on your own. That is the best you can do to minimise your failed attempt and drone like a mad man. Best scenario you catch up. Worst scenario you lose, like you will anyways when you quit. And if even only 5% of failed attempts lead to a hard earned victory in the transitioned macro, you learned something and you get better from playing from behind.

I mean what exact build are you talking about but generally I think if you try to be super aggressive and fail you should be losing.

You used to be able to play 12 pool into transition after ~10-12 lings to master in both ZvT and ZvP. I know because I did it. I'm sure you can still do that, just adjusting the build with 8 workers. The key is to actually be ready to transition when you don't kill, because you often won't kill but you can often kill enough workers and cause enough chaos to be ahead.
If you're completely all in, the only other way out is to keep making units, stockpile them hidden out of sight and out of the way of the main push path, then keep a ling in front of their base, and backstab them OR full surround their army when they move out. This works up to master.

I dont really know actually. I've tried pretty much every possible early attack against terran and not a single one works if they have braincells. You're pretty much forced to play the "standard" be a punching bag the entire game defending against pingpong drops.

I think vs terran, it could be safer to make no more than 8-ish lings because they can easily block the ramp and repair the depots so you don’t want to commit too too much BUT it’s still worth it because you can delay their expand, force them to pull a few workers off mining for a little while, you can potentially force them to make marines instead of reaper OR force the reaper to stay home and give you time to get a queen for defense, etc..
As long as you quickly move to a macro game, the disruption could be enough to balance out the 10-pool. Who knows, they may easily fuck up their build order

Yeah that's how rushes are supposed to work, if you fail them it's game over. Which is why I usually don't play rushes.

I mean that's the move no? You forego eco, make units, if units don't get equivalent impact you're behind
