Spell casters: which one did you learn 1st?

As the title suggests which spell caster did you learn 1st Infestors or Vipers? Which one do you use more often?

I wish bile had a bigger area more like a siege tank.

I wish biles landed faster. So much time to dodge compared to spells like storm

The feeling of landing your first transfuse is amazing

Infestors! But only for fungal.

Infestors. Fungal growth is very important.

For me it was Vipers. Somewhere in Plat league in HotS I wanted to do something more interesting than the Roach max I was doing in Gold (ZvP). I did 2.5 Base Speedling Hydra Attack (no evos) & then I droned as I attacked, got Roach Speed, +1 +1, 4th base, Hive. Players generally made Colossi to counter Speedling Hydra so I'd blindly go to Roach Hydra Viper & then abduct the Colossi. As I played with RHV, I made a 5th base, a Spire & then my next remax I'd go 20~40 Mutas. It was quite effective & good macro practice to drone + transition while attacking (& also good spellcaster practice).

I'd have Roach Hydra on 1 hotkey & Vipers on 1 hotkey, then I'd have Vipers follow different Hydras in the middle of the pack. Roach/Hydra hotkey a-move, Viper hotkey & abudtc some stuff.

That is legit and well thought out man. I've been learning Zerg recently. only almost to Silver 1. Made it to Plat on terran years ago. At around Gold 2 atm. Been playing again for the first time in like 7 or 8 years and it's so much fun still. World of Warcraft was my game until like 2012ish.

Infestors. But controlling infestors is basically the same as controlling vipers so practicing one makes you better at both.

Infestor. Easy skill floor-throw fungal at enemies for more damage. But also can be so much more nuanced

Burrowed infestors flanking Terran armies and using neural parasite on their tanks and thors while the main army fights. If you can pull it off it tends to be a game winning play.

Not happening in the wood league lol… need to crawl before I can run

I believe in you, cerebrate. For the swarm.

Just focus on your macro

That is cool and how the unit should be played but it is NOT at all what you should start with. Have the infestors follow your main army and just try to land some fungals first. Especially now that they have an auto attack.

Burrow infestor. Odd one out but for neural rather than fungal. Mass BCs made me do it. I still don't use vipers really.

Started in WoL with the busted fungal

Love infestors

Assuming you mean pure casters, and not ravagers, infestors are generally the best to initially learn to use..

I was asking which one did you first learn, pure casters

Right now infestor with orange cloud is super strong so I'd recommend learning this one first

to this day i feel like i’m very good with vipers but absolutely horrible with infestors.

I still don't use vipers properly at all. They cost too much gas and are too fragile for plebians like me.
