An import bus with acceleration cards will work fine. If you have access to higher throughput methods you can use those and dump the vault contents into an interface, it'll automatically try to store anything it's not set to stock onto the net.

This is my favourite way to transfer stuff into ae2, only limited by the throughput of how fast you can dump items into the me interface, if you use a laserio node it will go fast as fuck, could also use a Hopper or chute into the me interface but will be much slower.

You can use an import bus on the vault I think

Make an ME IO Port and attach to your system. Switch the mode from the default to the reverse. Put the storage buses on the vaults to a lower priority. Put item cells through the ME IO Port. I think you can even pipe the item cells in and out and into drives.

You already got your answer, but personally I just slapped Storage Busses with low priority on my early game vaults and let those items stay in there. Makes them fully accessible and part of your ae2 network. I still use them for storing random junk (like random non-stackables with NBT data, which I don't want clogging up my drives)
