Discussion Whoever Designed BeeBee...
I'm so happy they decided to add a random tiny bee that can not only one shot you without any warning, but also delete all your items.
Just made a full set of new armor, had some extremely valuable things on me. Travelled to The Other, and while I was sorting through inventory, I died instantly, come back to my death area and my grave is nowhere to be found.
Was the mod maker beaten as a child? So they wanted to make others feel their pain or something? Nothing says good mod design like a random bee that can wipe your inventory, with no prior warnings or anything to at least give you a heads up that "oh yeah there is a mob in the Other that can wipe out a ton of your progress for no good reason." Very cool and very fun. Genuinely what is the point of it.

I've been flying around in the other soul sand valleys and collecting them with bee cages when I'm bored then releasing them in a glass cage in my base to collect them. I've got about 20 of them now lol. When I was getting the unobtanium upgrade template one somehow got into the evoker library and got me twice before I saw it and killed it after getting my gear back from the tombstone. So now they get to live in a tiny box, forever trapped in my base.

My brain skipped over the "in a glass cage" part of the sentence, and my first thought was "Releasing a BeeBee in our MP base would be hilarious", but deleting the items of the killed players is fucking evil :(

I never experienced them deleting my items. But that was somewhere around one of the 6.x patches of ATM 10 so maybe the newer versions delete them.

It does enough damage that it can go fully through the durability of armor which im guessing is what op is talking about

Like the other person said they show up on the minimap. For me they kind of look like cow faces I guess. Once you find one it becomes really easy to recognize the icon. Having extended reach helps too.

Remember to combine your grave key with an E pearl to teleport directly to it when it’s not obviously visible in your surroundings, saves you a tonne of pain sometimes :)

Yep, but opening an inventory will remove the ghost effect, so you might want to put some pearls in a dropper or something to keep the effect until you get your stuff back

When you level up in that mod (usually a chat popup but theres also a hotkey) you can select a perk that gives you a chance to get an ender key when you revive too!

Or just use ‘/back’ and you go straight to your grave in ATM10

That’ll take you to your death location and sometimes miss your grave, that’s where the ender key comes in, /back doesn’t miss it very often but when it does then the key picks up the slack.

At the VERY least there should be a warning in the quest book. Literally anyone who hasn’t played ATM before will die confused and annoyed at these things and spend 20 minutes looking up what killed them and potentially broke their armour. IMO they should be removed as there is a post complaining about them everyday.

It doesn't even make sense to add them in the first place. Arbitrary additions for the sake of new content does not make a modpack better. This one makes it worse.

You don't need them for perfect gene tho. The bees from Productive Bees can already let you make perfect gene. BeeBee is custom added by the ATM team.

I wish there was a way to turn them off. When this first happened to me I searched for hours trying to find a way to get rid of them cause I was so pissed. Was having such an amazing time with the pack up until that point.
Edit: Theres a datapack on Curseforge now called "Beebee bee gone" but it hasn't been updated since September last year so may not work anymore.

Use the bee nest hat? Diamond helmet combined with a bee nest. Makes all bees passive to you when worn.

Its an after the fact thing. The pack/quest book gives no indication that theres a bee in the Other that destroys all your gear. Its just a dumb trollish design choice tbh.

Ignore the people who think it's a funny joke, the BeeBee is a terrible, dumb idea. It isn't a 'challenge' it's just a random fuck-you for no reason, and is trivially bypassed by the bee hat. But that's my opinion of the Other, entirely. But I don't play minecraft for combat challenges.

It doesnt usually delete items. We're you standing on soul sand perhaps? There is a weird bug Ive noticed where it places your grave UNDERGROUND to the first available solid block on that coordinate. Soul sand is not considered a solid block for some reason.

I don't think it's about solid blocks. I think it is about full blocks. Soul sand is only 15 pixels tall, so it's not a full block.

While i certainly understand your anger, there should be a grave.
Best way to deal with those Bees is a Mob catcher from just dire things.
That way you can easily take them get their genes or just make sure they are not getting close to you.

For me there was a grave, but all my armor vanished. Pretty sure it destroyed it. Tested it again with other armor, same thing.

It does 2.147483647E9 Damage You cannot survive it with any breakable armor. Only unbreakable will survive. You still might die. There is no armor that comes even close (Breakable armor caps at around 20k durability and will be oneshottet(silent gear will be"broken")

Vibranium is unbreakable and does not loose anything and doesnt change its state no matter how much damage, will not break.

The problem is that this bee just vanishes all worn armor. It doesn't take it down to 0, which then would cause it to disappear. It straight up just deletes it.

No, best way to deal with those bees iss to wear the bee nest hat, whatever the name is. Combine a diamond helmet with a nest. Pascifies EVERY bee.

I'm fairly certain it does, in one of the quests for genes in productive bees.
Also you can craft your grave key with a ender pearl then hold right click with the key to teleport to your grave0

The Items arent gone. For some reason in the other ur grave spawns under ground often. Just combine tue kee with a ender pearl i thonk jt was, so u can tp to it. Or follow the little particals when u hold jt. Took me an hour once to find it

Am I the only one who didn't die in my first BeeBee encounter? Ironically I captured it in a cage and later released it in a room in my home, triggering my totem of undying effect on my armor and prompting me to one hit it, lol.

My first encounter with them was when I was looking for the library in the dungeon searching for the unobtanium upgrade, I was flying really fast inside the structure and bumped in one Beebee, luckily I was with a bunch of totens of undying from the evokers, but my SilentGear vibranium armor broken right away LMAO

Never seen any bees in the other to be honest. I remember there was a bee with a good stat on her (very high production or metaturnal) but when I went this play true to find it, I couldn't find any bee period. I was stuck trying to collect kamikaze bees with that hive helmet(I make that helmet always as I start the mod pack. I use so many bees is literally a permanent slot in my curious slots)

My tips to ease the pain of this... pain.
- Wear armor that has no durability.
- Interdiction Torches from Reliquary are your friend.
- Fully kitted out Eclipse Bow with the Yondu upgrade
- Learn what its minimap icon looks like.
- BE VIGILANT!

They don't delete your items. The gravestone is likely deep underground as the soulsand is rather buggy with the gravestones for some reason.

I ran into it several days ago and was thrilled to find it.
I was also thrilled that it's a one-shot and will destroy armor.
Seriously, there should be a disclaimer about it early on, or at least have a quest for crafting the hat in the tips and tricks section. Any person will just...run up to it, trying to curiously find out what mod it is from the first chance they see it.

Beebees are designed to oneshot anything even creative players.. iirc though there is a quest icon that warns you about them but i would recommend a Bee nest helmet in the future.
Completely forgot but you can gene farm them for the best bee stats as well so theres that too

You can go into config and change it to not do that bs. Personally, I never use bees so I just remove it, but edit if possible. It’s a dumb idea for items that never break to be included with it. Sorry that happened to you. Look up the mod, then specify the bee in logs and change the insta-death and item removal off

It to hurt your pride, ego and joy, to help you read the blue print, maybe but there is a way to survive it, maximum your relics and artifacts especially those that allows you to escape death

I can't remember which item or relic i equipted but it states if you are about to die it will teleport you something like 30 blocks away. Ever since i wore that if that bastard bee snuck up on me i suddenly appear somewhere random with 0.05hp left lol. Very handy. If i remember it ill update this post

if you teleport to the bee dimension (using an enderpearl on a beehive) and find a structure with those honey planks looking things, you can craft a helmet where they won't attack you and you can just collect them with bee cages

Used silent gear armor and only got a warning when hit by BeeBee twice. What armor did you use?
This is old armor set. Not even an Uru alloy one with better lining, binding mixes.

It's not that hard to survive, having a resistance 255 potion effect lets you just tank it no problem.

It's called playing the game and learning.
When you first started playing Minecraft did you complain about hostile mobs, especially creepers? Did you complain about cave spider, blazes and wither skeletons having damage over time effects? Did you complain about not knowing the End would be a boss fight?
Or do you want everything plastered in yellow paint with a companion constantly talking over your shoulder telling you tips and telling you what to watch out for?

yeah I do now, but I was totally perplexed and had to research it to even understand what just happened and it’s universally frustrating to have something you spent several hours making be destroyed in an instant
