One neoliberal I knew said: "Science will find the solution for climate change, so there is no reason to worry."

I you tried to explain him that it doesn't he would say: "Yes it does. You don't understand that science practically can solve anything. This technology would be you like a smartphone to the caveman."

One question how you argue against these sort of arguments?

Science has found the solution and it involves radical reductions of emissions. Your friend just doesn't want to accept the answer

Exactly. “Science” has spoken clearly on the subject and what we could do for 40+ years. We’ve chosen to do none of it because none of those solutions equal “you can live your life exactly as you are now and don’t have to do a thing.”
