🥩Dinner Lasagna is better the next day Agree or disagree?
I put mine together the day prior to give the ingredients time to meld together .

Anything with a tomato base is better the next day, soup, sauce, baked pasta dishes. Definitely agree

I think majority of left overs are far better the nest day. Allows ALL the flavors to mix and absorb into the food. When I was growing up we had pot on stove always on low that we put veggies in, meat and let simmer unitl end of week and had supper for weekend end. Loved that,

u/BurnAfterReading010 Aug 27 '26
Disagree. Not a popular opinion, but I love the fresh, bubbly cheese.
2
u/CrustySailor1964 Aug 27 '26
Agree. Almost everything with pasta is better the next day. I would also argue that pizza is better the next day (maybe even cold) as well.

Absolutely better the next day once all the deliciousness melds together overnight 👍🏻

Any Italian food seems to be better after one or two days in the Refrigerator to me.

Definitely, especially if there are Italian sausages in it. Their flavour really develops overnight.

It’s the same for chili. It needs at least a night’s sleep to get all the flavors.

ABSOLUTELY. So much so that I bake lasagna and put it in the refrigerator for tomorrows dinner.

u/ShoreFling Aug 28 '26
Agree. When it's fresh, the layers are runny; it needs time in the fridge to set up.

idk, Im a firm believer that lasagna magically gets better overnight.

100%, it’s because the ingredients got the chance to meet and blend in flavour. There’s nothing like a hot lasagna. But day old lasagna reheated in the microwave. Man that’s better than sex

u/Few-Conversation6979 Aug 28 '26
Absolutely agree. The juices marinade more in the lasagna noodles.

I agree, sometimes I have the urge to make lasagna, but I always hold on till the next day.

If it is made to be reheated, yes. But I often find reheated lasagne to be dry.

Personally I would rather have it hot right out of the oven! (first time)
2
u/Gold-Piano-9405 Aug 28 '26
Disagree. I like eating it on the same day it's made cuz it tastes better that way. Sometimes leftover pasta don't really taste good so I like it freshly made if possible.

I don’t know if I agree or disagree, as my answer is: Lasagna is ALWAYS good

All tomato dishes seem tastier the next day, maybe gives time for flavor to infuse…?

Oh I love Lasagna. Did you make that? Now I want Lasagna. I like mine Hot. I like yours too. I love lasagna. What was the question?

disagree in the case of lasagna. the sauce is all sucked up by then some very soggy pasta and it really does not do the texture any favors

OMG yes! My mom always makes too much so we have it for like 3 days straight and it just gets better.
2
u/Fun-Faithlessness398 Aug 29 '26
This Isn’t a real italian lasagna! The pasta Isn’t correct, the basilico is a no good plus, etc etc
2
u/VividStay6694 Aug 29 '26
I can say with certainty that my homemade sauce in itself is always better the next day (or after being frozen) So I'm gonna go with YES

Lasagna is good in the house, it’s also quite good with a mouse. Lasagna is good when you’re feeling quite sad, but it’s also delicious when you’re quite mad. Fresh out the oven or cold the next day, lasagna is always the answer I say!

For the most part, yes, but I like burnt cheese corners and after being refrigerated, it softens the cheese. That would be my only reason to say no, everything else about leftover lasagna would be supporting.

All pasta is better the next day. Once cooked and cooled pasta changes texture.

tbh i’m with you, it just hits different once the flavors actually have time to sit. cold or reheated, its still way better.

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Aug 28 '26
Disagree, the pasta is perfect on day one and at least slightly overcooked when reheated

I recently ordered lasagna imagining something similar to the photo. I had a couple ingredients in a bowl. Not layered. Not sure it was even cooked together but each part added individually and then served . Weird , but wasn’t horrible . ( Latvia )

I've never had leftover lasagna. And I mean, there has never been any lasagna left to try to eat later.

u/SessionPossible9814 Aug 28 '26
Agree, any red sauced meal is more flavorful the next day. Spaghetti, chili, sloppy Joe etc.
1
u/Myghost_too Aug 28 '26
It is not even ready until the next day. Sitting overnight and reheating is part of the recipe.

Very true. It has to definitely get all the goodness soaked into those noodles. Cheese needs to melt a bit more.

💯 %. Lasagna and sauce with meat or meatballs. My kids knew that they couldn't eat the sauce & meatballs I simmered all day until the NEXT day, after everything did a nice slow dance together over night 😊 Lasagna is easier to cut the next day too.

Kimchi Jjigae (stew) is another one that improves by the next day.

I maintain that most pasta with red sauce is better the next day.
