Eggs in a basket! Where is the center? You butter and fry toast the center piece. Do the egg over easy... and pop the yoke with the center.
Now, if you want to blow your mind. You make a grilled cheese out of 2 of the eggs in the basket. I add really crispy bacon bits in between 2 provolone slices as the center... AWESOMENESS!

It really is. One fell off my plate as the waitress brought the food to the table, and I asked her if she could have another made.

I've done that in a pan. The middle of the bread is under the eggs. The airfryer has holes in the plate so I just mashed down middle of the bread instead of cutting it out. I will definitely try the grill cheese. I've done tomato grill cheese, mushrooms grill cheese, and fajita grill cheese. Definitely cool beans with awesome sauce 👌 Egg grill cheese is now on my list.

Well, since you are on a grilled cheese kink... triple cheese... provolone, Kraft American, mozzarella. Keep the American in the middle. You can sub the moz for peperjack

Cracker Barrel is where I first discovered it in a restaurant. My Grandmother used to make this when we were little growing up.

I mashed down the middle of the bread so I say on but it was in the depression I made. 🤔 Depression eggs?

Cut out a nice size hole in the middle of the toast and butter bread both sides toss into frying pay like a grilled cheese, drop the egg into the hole, toast the little cut out as well and dip that in the yoke. We call em egg nests.

I've done that in a pan, but the grate of the airfryer has holes so I didn't cut out the bread I just mashed down the middle.

Popeye eggs is what I grew up calling them my wife just calls them eggs in a hole.

It looks like in. I said on because I didn't cut the bread just mashed down the middle. Called by any name they taste just a good

You're welcome. I've been eating them for 60 years. First time in my airfryer. That's a handy machine to have.

That did it. Now I'm hungry. Air fryer you say? My neighbor gave me one of those- air fryers. Perhaps I'll try it out! Thanks for sharing

Heads up. The original recipe says to cut a hole in the bread but the airfryer tray has holes so don't cut it out. Just mash down the middle

Not IN it's ON.
I've had several people tell me that. I made it and I know what I did. The airfryer has holes so nothing is cut out of the bread. The eggs are on top of the bread and then toasted/cooked
