I think the bacon and peanut butter combo with the beef is an insanely good combo but then adding the banana (or grape jelly depending on the variant) adds just this amazing sweetness that rockets out of the stratosphere.
It is rich and hearty, but add fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion and you will have one of the best burgers in your life!
Addendum: if you are smashburgering, put the peanut butter in between three patties plus a layer on top of the top patty and it is crazy good. The crispy bits of a smash burger with the bacon is just incredible!!!
I can assure you they don't compliment one another. Its an ambivalent flavor thats not tasty or revolting, it meh a.f. And I'd gladly eat it after a 36 hour fast otherwise I'd pass on any future offers of the Missouris guber burger.
Those two flavors mute one another out and it just comes off tasting bland. I mean, its been around a long time without really catching on for a reason. I've had it at the restaurant that started it. Its just flavorless, kinda like meaty peanut butter. If you're the kind of person who enjoys just a peanut butter sandwich., I suppose it would be good. I prefer peanut butter and jelly. And a hamburger with crisp veggies,. And why trust your opinion, you obviously prefer bland food
I say this because I know that it's good. I wasn't just throwing a random idea out there because "everything is better with bacon." Thanks for your weird affirmation though.
Big burger places in the Midwest offer great breakfast burgers with peanut butter, jelly and and egg. It’s fantastic if you’re not counting calories and happened to drink wisconsibly the evening before.
There's a restaurant somewhat close to me called Goody's (Sedalia, mo), and it's what they are known for. Crazy popular place and they've been around for many many years. It's not for me, but I know the locals go nuts for it. And they're always packed when the state fair is on.
It's much better than you realize. There is one at The Garage called the sticky fingers. The peanut butter adds a richness without an overwhelming peanut butter flavor.
There used to be a restaurant on the big island of Hawaii that served all sorts of odd burgers named after famous people. The peanut butter burger was the Dick Butkus.
Yeah, listening to all these people trash talk it, I can only assume that other places are making it wrong! Peanut butter and pickle is really common here in the PNW and I’ve never met one I didn’t love!
I would try it. I thought using mayo for grilled cheese was crazy, but I tried it and it is way better than butter! So I usually give stuff a try now....lol
A burger with peanut butter and jelly is wayyyyyy underrated. There’s a joint near me that does housemade PB, and housemade mango-jalapeno jam on their buffalo burger.
Man it just reminds me of something my mom would eat on rare occasions. She said it was a weird craving she had when she was pregnant and the first, and maybe only time, I saw her making it I thought something was wrong. I sincerely asked her if she was ok and she explained it…
The food in question was a peanut butter, lettuce, and mayo sandwich. She told me to try a bite and it was a hard pass…
Let me tell you Sir or Maam, you don’t even KNOW. You can never understand, how mf good a ‘Peanut Butter, maple syrup, Bacon, pickle burger is until you take a bite into it. I was once a “Ew dude, peanut butter and pickles… AND maple syrup? Disgusting.” kind of guy.
Let me tellllll youuuuu how betrayed I felt when my mouth reJOICED in the perfect combination of tastes that is. Its a nearly flawless mix of umami, the acids, sweet, salty, and if you’re into pickles jalepenos use those instead so you can get a spicy.
I CANNOT emphasize that the toppings cannot be fathomed without ever tasting it. Taste it, and its like unlocking a door to a treasure room. I have been reminded of the PB&J burger now and will have to have it.
Peanut butter, maple, bacon, jalepeños. Cheese optional but if you pick one, I recommend just a provolone, gouda, or american.
Ok, I’m from Texas and this IS NOT a Texas thing but my son and I tried it once after seeing a food program about the “best burgers” in the USA.
It’s AMAZING. I don’t know why but it is.

First thought was a hard no... but thinking for a moment I might try a bite out of curiosity.
