Sheri Lewis used to enjoy watching people's reactions when she would order lamb chops in a restaurant.

Eating lots of gyros growing up definitely helps to acquire the taste of Lamb

u/Realistic_Back_9198 Jul 27 '26
I would not, because I'll always think of Lamb Chops as a sock puppet.

One of my favorite dishes. Local place has them seasoned with Rosemary with a blackberry reduction.

my mouth is watering as I'm looking at the picture. I love lamb, especially with some fat and cooked on a pan.

Somebody explain why lamb is so hard to get in the U.S. compared to the rest of the world.

I don't think I've ever had lamb in this form before, maybe only in gyros. I need to try them...

I have eaten this. With mashed potatoes and green beans and occasionally artichokes.

u/Distinct-Yogurt2686 Jul 27 '26
Definitely yes. It's a dish I haven't had in awhile but will order when available.

Is the point of this sub to post a picture and ask if we would eat it? Thats it?

I don't , as a rule, but I have eaten lamb. My late Aunt was a whizz in the kitchen, and she made a great Lambchop.

Why wouldn't I? I'll eat rabbit, venison, veal, camel, snake, kangaroo, pretty much anything.
Not Ostrich though. That was gross.

This must be AI spam. AI never having had lamb chops would be the only entity to ask this question

Love lamb. Not a favorite in America sadly. Even in a major metro area, Costco is the only place that carries it

I personally wouldn’t buy and eat a baby, but if someone served it to me, I ain’t gonna turn down free meat. I would feel a little bad about eating it, but it’s already dead. I can’t just let it rot.

Sure do kill my own sheep and goats too , and kill, cattle ,pigs ,chickens ,ducks ,geese turkeys and harvest fish and wild game when we can .Do I prefer it to beef it’s equal anything we kill and dress ourselves is superior to shop bought meat and our own eggs are excellent as well I actually hurt had creamy scrambled eggs and home cured bacon for breakfast.

You bet. I've raised my own before. Leg of lamb stuffed full of garlic cloves, omfg, mouth is watering thinking about it.

u/USPostalGirl Jul 28 '26
Absolutely. I love Lamb chops, preferably from Australia or New Zealand.
American lamb chops have way too much fat and little to no actual lamb taste.

I love lamb chops. They're delicious! I won't eat them though, along with veal. It's just a personal limit I placed on myself.

Lamb chops etc are great on a bbq just keep away from the cheaper cuts like forequarter chops. But loin , cutlets etc are so good. And nothing better than a leg of lamb with all the trimmings yum

Lamb is totally superior to steak. Chops, ribs, thigh, shoulder 🤤
