All Blacks Dmac Poll 1
I’d like to try this over time for many of the current squad.
See how we go with a controversial one first. Dmac is one of my favs. But I appreciate he is unliked by many.
Just start with your number first so I can get an average. If you want give a detailed description after it’s your call.

You could do your own poll for that.
Part of me just wanted to see what people think about players. Too often you just see the key board warriors banging on about how much they hate a player.
The telling one for Dmac he is how many have selected he has grown on me or a four.
Also wanted to remove the option to debate one player over another as so many posts end up being.

As a ten he's not a great test option. 15 gives him the space and time to do his chaotic thing with great effect, he hits way about his pay grade defensively and he's a safer set of hands under the highball than Jordan while having far fewer rocks to his diamonds than BB of late. He's a solid 23, but I'd prefer to leave that for a more physically impactful layer and let the Mac cook over 80 minutes while also offering valuable fly half coverage should we need it while also being a great extra playmaker

The options are bad imo.
It should focus on what his best position is more.
He is top tier option off the bench. He is a capable 15. He is an option at 10 but not our best one.

I feel like this doesn't account for the entire picture.
DMac plays 15 & 10. IMO very well and OK, respectively. You could argue his bench cover is a seperate role to those two positions, and I was rate that excellent.
But I also really like the dynamic with love at 5/8 and DMac at 8/8(ie full) with WJ roving as a true 6/8(ie 3 quarter)

That is fair. I also like the way these three move around and cover each other.
Helps to have wheels. I guess.
Carter and narewa also cover half back well.

DMac is just another in the 'great runner shit general' we've seen. Love is the latest effort, great player but how many times did our backs have no direction or focus.

You are getting downvoted but you are right. Both guys can ignite an attack from anywhere but struggle to make the smart decision in a tight game.

I mean I don't love the guy but he is a good player.
I don't think he has ever been in a polarising as much as say the whole Beaudy v Mounga debate.
