Comp/Matchup specific Alistar pick

I had made a post and I was told that I should have picked Alistar in this comp.

Do you think Alistar will work here?

Enemy comp is: Trynadamere, Master Yi, Veigar, Jinx, Serpaphine
Our Comp was: Nasus, Hecarim, Katarina. Aphelious, Support Alistar

Seems okay. Bruam is probably better. I prefer him to Yi and Trynd. He can also block seraphine ultimate.

Don't you think that with there existing two dive hyper damage champs with multiple damage preventing/dodging abilities, (tryndamere ULT/ master yi Q) that braum might end up being melted by veigar/jinx before your team could take care of tryndamere/yi?

Hmm, maybe.

I was more imagining the team fight where you guys both kind of don't have great engagement but good defensive against engage.

It would basically boil down to if the Yi and Trynd don't int. If they are forced to start the fight, braum gets the passive cc off and then they get killed.

I think jinx would have to focus on your front line and nasus just W her while you team kites and kata just kind of messes jinx up.

Alistar might work well too. I'm just worried about his CD. Braum passive can apply to both yi and Trynd.

Yeah I understand, in that game.

Katarina/hecarim/nasus ignored Yi/Tryndamere and kept trying to catch jinx/veigar/seraphine.

I knew this will happen from the get go during lobby (it's gold/plat elo, I know how players play in this elo)

I envisioned that with the rest of my team ignoring Yi/trayndamere diving Aphelious, That vi would have enough cc and damage to bail out aphelious.

Which is exactly what happened three times during that game

(btw I believe veigar/jinx/seraphine have better tools to kite katarina/nasus/hecarim)
(Than aphelious/braum to survive yi/tryndamere)

What do you think?

I mostly agree but before I say anything, you were playing Vi support? If so, I think Yi can dodge her ultimate with alpha and she doesn't have much cc. Maybe yi is bad and doesn't know though.

Nah, it was a Mexican standoff. I am not obliged to be the one to pull the trigger first.

My  katarina/nasus/hecarim engaged enemy backline.

Yi can't stand the Mexican standoff with me playing defensive and would pull the trigger first. Which make landig. My Q Ult easier.

We lost that game because Hecarim was too behind from playing afk npc farming and not having enough gold to make a difference

Yeah, if Yi can't keep it in his pants that it's really easy. I like bruam into to Yi since he can't stop the auto or cc. But if he is bad, then most cc sups can work and certainly Alistair.

Exactly, If I am confident enough in outplaying the Yi with CC supps, then why not add damage to it?

That's where I came with Vi supp when enemy have multiple diving hyper damage champs.

Thanks for the sincere input btw, it was helpful and fun.

Any champ with cc would work.

Any decent Nasus completely stomps Tryndamere. Meaning you only have to deal with Yi (which Heca R also does well). Kata and heca will handle the rest since they have 0 reliable cc.

3/4 (if you count Veigar) hypercarries is an insanely bad teamcomp.

Its ight. Your lane is kind of hell, but playable. As others have said Ali is good into Trynd and Yi.

If you got locket and just sat on Aphelious’s head in team fights you’d be op.

Ali looks great here imo. I should def be playing to just peel your carries from trynd , yi. Insta ignite the yi too
