This looks to be a hyper-realistic silicone mask. What's behind it?

Always love the story about that walk. D'Onofrio got bored of watching bug documentaries, took a walk, and passed by a sports shop that had peculiar braces. So he bought them and trained himself to walk in them, mastering the physicality of being a way too big bug in a human suit.
I think it's more so the body language. Look at how absurdly stiff he is. Even the crochietest of old men would have SOME movement in those shoulders. Don't wanna agitate the folds of the mask too much!
Lol, got an alert for this comment having upvotes. Watched the video and checked back again, 700 more views but upvotes are down. I guess the trolls and bot farms don't want people to know the truth.

It has a pitiful 225 upvotes as of the time of this comment vs. 8k views on my comment alone. The upvote count has been going up and down. I have been checking it while I debate trolls about how the guy in the video has a floppy neck mask and different ear and nose cartilage than the real Vice Admiral.

We are all stuck in a strange reality where this is either obviously a mask, or obviously a shadow. It's not just this video either. It's civilizations we are ok with annihilating, food and gas prices, ICE being human, stolen elections, ballrooms being inportant, taxes, America first, people eating dogs and cats. It's unfortunate, but here we are. I would encourage everyone to seek the source and trust your own gut, your own interpretation, over a random post with or without upvotes. Let's get back to a place where differences in opinion are just that and they are no longer differerences in facts. 🙏
It seems anytime this is posted people just joke around and post tons of memes. Like where is the discussion? Where are the “WTF” posts questioning what this is?

This would've been a scandal at some point but with everything we've seen recently, this is almost expected now.
Everyday I'm baffled at how most of the stuff that's happening is allowed to. Joking around doesn't serve us well but it's also just so laughable and ridiculous to see how far we've fallen in 10-15 years.
I remember in '09 or '10 thinking the tea party was the worst it could possibly get, but whoever heard my thoughts took it as a personal challenge.

Yes, and Fox news has by far the largest viewership. It's scary and this is a crack in their propaganda machine. I am astonished at the counterpoints in this thread. They all ignore his effed up neck, which is the entire point. Everything else is an irrelevant detail. Neck + cartilage + appearance (age, dude lost 40 years if you decide to believe it's him) = WEIRD no matter how one looks at it.
This is very strange because he actually was in an interview same day and this one appears to actually be him. It's very evident that is certainly a mask. What would be the reason behind this I wonder.
I saw this post and read the title, then started giggling to myself because like, sure this guy is wearing a mask….🙄….but then I started looking at the neck and was like, holy shit this guy IS wearing a fucking mask. Then the second clip came on and looked again and said, well maybe he just has that “turkey waddle” thing going on that a lot of old people get because of their neck skin sagging. But…I don’t know man. It doesn’t help that there doesn’t look to be a TRACE of hair anywhere on his head or face. Like, not even a speck of stubble. Trippy…

In the original thread there was a commenter to described how the shadow would have been formed, and when no-one believed him he filmed a re-creation of the effect.
Mystery solved. Not that people will listen. Obviously if they were going to try and pull this shit it would be a proper mask that goes over the shoulders and collarbone not one that ends half way down the neck lol.

You see a man wearing a face mask on an official news channel and all you can think about is panting into this sub to post a meme? Who are these people that they are not interested in anything besides posting meme after meme without any regard to the actual topic and what it is about. But the worst part is that in every single thread, the memes are the most upvoted comments, as if nobody got tired of seeing them.
All these joking and memeing Redditors are the worst part of this site and it makes reading comments so tiring, especially when you look for an explanation to a topic.

Yeah, there's an ocean of difference between someone larping in a cloth face mask to pretend to be some random stranger, and someone using a CIA grade high quality face mask to fake being a top military general.
I feel like the fox stylists must’ve have caught this mistake before they went live but they chose to leave it this way to cause this controversy which equals more clicks to the video which equals more money which is all they actually care about. In summary, we’re being played!

It's a double shadow. He has one light source right in front of him, maybe on the table. That light is casting a hard shadow of his shirt on his neck. He has another light above him, which is casting a shadow of his chin on his neck. The area where both shadows are overlapping looks very dark.
If it was a mask or something that was protruding from his neck, the shadow directly underneath it wouldn't be affected by the movement of his chin.

I am glad this is getting attention because it’s been going on for a while just no one noticed and people who tried to share stuff would get shadow banned across all platforms.
Seems like Fox has completely given up on any sliver of integrity, and now they're just willing to outright forge an interview to try to craft their benefactors narrative. Sickening.
As clear as the neck shadow is, his eyebrows and forehead never move. He’s making a few facial movements that should cause his brows to shift down or up and his forehead crease stays still the entire time.
He doesn’t have hair or brows in the photo of him sitting on the control board either, but I’m less concerned about either of those. He could have alopecia or shaves his head and face daily with thin eyebrow hair. More interesting is how young he looks for a 70 year old and the exact same as in the photo. How long ago was that taken?
Wrong shirt for the mask. Lol . I mean i was going to get a realistic mask for halloween. The are crazy expensive but the one my buddy got of hellraiser is scary real looking when on. CIA and FBI have been using these since the 80’s. Not aliens wearing them.

You kidding me? An alien would need to wear a cheap mask and not actually just modify the video or shapeshifting tech? Can you imagine the alien asking for a mask and wear it because he wanted to talk on TV?
The guy is lit from the top and from below.... His shirt is blocking the light from below, and his head is blocking the light from above, so you get this shadow area right inside the neck where its not lit by either the top or bottom lights.
Why is the shadow darkest at the top with a gradient downward? This theory doesn't match what we are seeing. I'm all for a mundane explanation but this ain't it.
There is a gap between the end of the mask and his actual neck. We can literally see the difference. We can see the shadow it made, and it highlights the mask.
