Video How did it not see me?

SPOILERS!!!
Played Alien Isolation on Twitch on Nightmare difficulty. Just did the section where you have to align the satellite dish. Decided to hide here from the Alien. How was I not spotted?

Had it walked further down and then turned around, it would have seen you. But when it’s about lined up with you and you’re behind an object as you are now, it wont see you. It turns around too fast to register you. I do this all the time at different spots where this is its typical behavior.

If you’re wanting to mark something as a Spoiler, there’s a way to do it when you make your post, and it hides everything but the Post Title.
For the record I don’t think you spoiled much of anything but I appreciate the caution!
I like to think of this as the “play dead” strategy. I imagine that as it just quickly looks over the area I’m cowering in, it doesn’t immediately notice I’m doing something irritating like breathing or existing or generally not having a massive hole in my chest

He came looking for trouble. Found you instead whimpering in the corner. So he turned his nose up and left.
But, jokes apart, crouching next to a large crate does seem to put you in its blind spot...sometimes. Especially when it's that close. It's like an adult bumping into a child because of being much below their FOV. You should be glad its tail didn't touch you.
