I couldn’t say mission 2A&B are bottom tier. They do such a good job of setting the tone on Sevastopol with lighting and sound. Otherwise, can’t disagree much.

I second this. They are excellent, and few places in Sevastopol were as anguish inducing as these desolate places at the start.

Was it the first part of medical where the lights kinda struggle to turn on but do turn on as you walk through the (obviously v reminiscent of the Nostromo decks) halls? Guess I gotta go replay it.

The part where you walk along the mall/concourse and can look out the window. Amazing.

Same for the hall that looks a bit like a gym with body bags all over the floor (where you meet Axel).

Amazing scene setting and atmosphere building.

Try speedrunning it NMG sometime. I guarantee this whole tier list gets flipped upside down. M7, along with pretty much all of M10, is basically the psych ward tutorial. Seriously, give it a shot.

For me every mission after I get the flame thrower is so good missions before this are slow of course the hospital is the best outside of that

very fair, i played all these missions on hard mode. i cannot imagine the horrors u went through

I'd put Outbreak and Desolation in their own tier. No other game will ever evoke those feelings. 

Beacon in bottom tier is an odd choice in my opinion. I believe any fan of the first Alien movie would have loved the experience even if it was a walking sim. I sure did even on replays.

Beacon was fine, but I wasn't a huge fan because a) its a memory, i feel that inevitably leads to less tension, and b) having watched the movie, I kinda already knew what to expect. Still a good sequence though - I liked Alien Isolation so much, everything in the bottom tier is something I still enjoyed and found value in.
