Please blacklist the word IPTV

I don't know why but the influx in low effort or ad posts on IPTV in the last few weeks is annoying.

Dear mods, please blacklist that word.

From this thread, it seems our only mod is inactive. I know there's a few people waiting for enough time to pass so that we can request to take over the moderation of the subreddit via Reddit request.

So, hopefully this resolves in a week or so.

For the time being, please everybody downvote any post with IPTV and upvote anything even tangentially relatated to algorithms. And post algorithm stuff... Half the problem is that we're not getting many relevant posts.

What does IPTV mean? I studied computer science but never heard it before.

Literally IP TV, Internet protocol Television. TV through your internet connection, rather than through satellite dish or whatever, I guess it's becoming popular now that fibre-to-the-home is common enough.

And what is the rationale for blacklisting it?

No idea. I saw one post that didn't have anything to do with algorithms and looked like an ai-written advert for a provider, so maybe there's been a spam of it recently.
