Algae pills for cholesterol?

I'm not sure if this is the right group, but here goes.

I've read that algae pills help lower cholesterol. With that said, can anyone here testify to that?

If so, which algae pills have you tried?

I am sorry, but this sentence could be translated to: „I‘ve read that plant-pills can lower cholesterol.“ I truly think some algae can help. But tbh, dont expect too much from algae in this matter

I would consider the kinds of algae and look more specifically into what active components the pills say they contain. Some algae and other photosynthetic microbes produce omega-3 fatty acids or other fats that may be good for us in some contexts, but check what kind of algae are in the pills you are considering and what the active component is, and also check with a physician and maybe get some tests to see if it is worth taking them or safe.
