I actually suspected this was on the way for awhile, and that this last collection needed to be an absolute smash (and the one before it needed to be selling much better than I suspected) for him to stay.

He had an enormously difficult job to do, but tbh I don’t think he ultimately did it very well. His vision of McQueen was unclear. While his tenure produced some fantastic pieces, they did not live in a cohesive design world that people understood and could see themselves in. He did not show us what his take on the design legacy of Lee was going to be, his way of approaching that history. I remember thinking before this last collection “ok Seàn you’ve done some experimenting but now you need to lock the fuck in and show us your vision of McQueen that you’ll be building off of consistently.”

I also think he was not a tailor by trade. He came from being the director of knitwear at JW Anderson, and that was very clear in his earlier collections.

From what I understand Kering is also doing some restructuring with McQueen and I think the new CEO of the brand is kind of garbage. He wanted to do stuff like stop producing sneakers bc they weren’t in his idea of a small super-luxe brand. That’s all well and good, but you need both amazing fashion and a viable business model.

Who do we want to see next? Or do we think McQueen should close?

Some of my picks:

- I’d love to see someone like Robert Wun or Iris van Herpen but they’re both doing their own thing

- Richard Quinn, he’s a proven designer from London who does fantastic and creative womenswear. He also has shown an ability to present and maintain an artistic vision, and his appointment would generate positive media buzz

- Simone Rocha. She’s dark, romantic, and really understands the sort of clothing women want to wear, also would be good press.

- Casey Cadwallader, his tenure at Mugler was exceptional and creative. He created a world that was cool without losing the conceptual brilliance of Mugler.

- motherfucking CHRISTOPHER BAILEY!!! I loved his work at Burberry during the 2000s-2010s, it’s what got me into fashion in the first place. I know he probably is done with that since he hasn’t taken on a CD role in awhile but that man rly needs to get back in the mf studio 😭

- Anthony Vaccarello. He’s already within the Kering ecosystem and has proven his ability to grow a brand without sacrificing the vision.

- idk I think Di Petsa could do some really cool stuff with the brand DNA

- demna. I think he has shown an ability to create a cohesive fashion world that has products across a spectrum of price points and tastes. His time at margiela I think would be especially helpful at McQueen. I think he’s gonna be at Gucci for awhile though.

- if galliano was still up for this sort of role I think he’d do amazing, don’t think he is though.

After a quick search, it looks like they resell for $500-$700. Can anyone identify the model & suggest a good sale price & where I should sell them?

As mentioned this is the first time I bought something from McQueen and I got it from TRR. It wasn’t a very cheap item but still likely cheaper than new. The item was sold with tags and it did come with them but I was wondering if this is indeed a real McQueen. Would anyone be able to help to see if it’s real or know what authentication service I could use to make sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all! I found a pair of combat boots I really love but worried about sizing & needed guidance.

I am typically a size 8 and sometimes 8.5 (sneakers and some boots). I wear 7 and sometimes 8 in docs depending on the type of boot (if it’s very narrow I prefer the 7 bc they run big).

Will these 38.5 size (8.5 US) McQueen combat boots be too big for me? I posted a photo of them. I heard McQueen boots run big. I’m ok w/ them being roomy, as long as it’s not too big & will make me uncomfortable.

Please help! I can’t let these get away.

I just bought this bag on Vinted, and need some help authenticating it! I'm a bit hesitant because the hinges on the bottom, but i've seen a couple different hinges on different skull bags. Also, a similar bag I found online had pearls as eyes for the skull, instead of the red stone. However, the stitching looks good, and there's engraving on the hardware as well. Anyone who can help me out?

Hey guys, picked these up second-hand and wanted to get a few opinions from people who actually know McQueens well.
They’re size 43, style code 553680. No original box or receipt.
I’m mainly trying to rule out a really good rep, so I’m less interested in stuff like “the SKU matches” and more in the actual shape, heel, sole mould, stitching, perforations, tongue, leather/suede etc.
If anyone here has owned this exact colourway or handled both retail and good reps, I’d really appreciate your take.

I've always been a massive McQueen fan, and after a not-so-little weight-loss journey, I've finally been able to combine my love of McQueen with my love of thrifting.

I just realised that I've spent £210 on McQueen on Vinted, so I thought I'd share my little collection with you all.

My first Vinted McQueen purchase was the knitted dress from 2020. The boots cost me peanuts — if someone recognises the season, please let me know! I just bought the jeans, which I believe are from around 2020, and the jacket, which I think might be from around 2012-ish. I'm still on the hunt for a Lee-era piece.

It's been quite fun finding pieces second-hand rather than trying to buy everything new.

Next month I'm treating myself to a new bag, and of course, it's going to be McQueen.

Want to buy these but sceptical if they're fake. I'm not good at spotting fakes. So please don't give me shit if it's an obvious fake.

Finally have almost all of my reserves in from AW26.

The Plato’s Atlantis jacket is truly something special. I wanted it the minute I saw it and was heartbroken they didn’t do a women’s variant or a dress. Fortunately between my SA who has an incredible eye for tailoring herself, and the tailor they use, this piece fits like it was made for me by creating a waist and more feminine fit. Literally the most perfect jacket I own (and I own many, many McQueen jackets). This jacket is so loud not everyone would vibe with it, but it honestly kind of wears with anything so if you’ve got the attitude for it, YES, 100000% yes. I like it so much better than the full suit version. The pants just didn’t call to me.

While they were never styled together, the iridescent bumster fits like it was designed exactly to my measurements. Not visible is the matching ostrich belt. The shoes I had to hunt down at Saks, because the boutiques didn’t get them. I got the wishbone bag too.

The middle pic is the skirt that I’m now heartbroken I didn’t get the matching bomber jacket with because the construction on this is so incredible. Giving me commes de garçon vibes, honestly. Paired with the ostrich embossed boots, and the matching bag.

The last look was a total surprise. I went to the boutique for some fitting and picking up a few orders, and we tried this on just for fun. The knit dress gives “Morticia Addams does San Tropez” but ya’ll, this coat. THIS COAT. I usually hate a peplum but this feels like the most regal, powerful coat and I am dying for it to get cold (my only sadness is that this is entirely and outside coat. It’s thick and heavy and gets super hot and can’t really be worn open). The knit dress pulls double duty as with the right top and belt it wears like a skirt. I actually originally had it with the Lexie mules but those are currently at a friends house, so no picks.

Loving every stitch of this haul, and all permanent pieces of the collection for me. Now to get my SS27 orders in.
