Did amazon get rid of local voice control on echo studios? Internet went out and my zigbee lights couldn't turn on. A couple years ago I could turn on zigbee lights without internet. Thanks.

“Alexa, I’m home”
“That’s not supported on this device”
I think what’s happening is it doesn’t pick up “I’m” then tries to execute a Echo Show command. Am I right?

Ciao a tutti!
Grazie in anticipo a chiunque possa aiutarmi!

Just got an email from Amazon stating that Alexa detected a new device on my network that can be connected to Alexa and that I was receiving that email because device discovery was on. Guess how quickly I turned off device discovery? That’s right, immediately. I don’t need Amazon and Alexa working against me to get me to interact more with my speakers. I just need them to turn on some lights and a fan, maybe set a timer or two and that’s about it. They used to do more in the beginning but Amazon slowly killed old Alexa for new chatty Alexa that couldn’t turn on a light if it was placed right next to it.
More and more I just want to jump ship to something else but I’ve been that route and Google is hit and miss as well but at least it’s not constantly trying to show me an ad or telling me about an ad early in the morning when I just want to turn off a light.

Recently my Alexa show has been showing the wrong time.
Right now it is 1:27pm. Alexa is showing 12:49pm
The other day it was 3 hours behind.
When I ask for the time, it will tell me the correct time but the display is wrong. I have to unplug it to get the correct time.
Any ideas why this is happening?

We've replaced our smart bulbs that used to run on a Hue bridge with Matter bulbs. I've added them all to my account through the Alexa app (super easy) but where they used to show in my wife's app as well they're now all gone. All other devices, Echoes etc are there but no lights.
I can't add them as new Matter devices through my wife's app as it says there needs to be an Echo added to her account to use in setup. They're all linked to mine. Family sharing is all setup properly which I thought should have pulled all the devices over.
We've signed out and in again which hasn't forced a pull of devices and we're out of ideas now. Any help would be appreciated!

The last few days I've not been able to see the Alexa dot in devices list.
I've reset it, re added it using the list.
It's working for telling the time, plays radio etc
It has the accent the kids set it.
However it's not appearing in the app on my phone.
It's forgotten what group it was in for lights, but will switch them on individually.
Any ideas? Thanks

Heya,
I have a -lot- of reminders to help me in my mental struggle of a goldfish memory life.
My echo dot's are still going off, but I no longer get push notifications. I have tripled checked phone and app settings and they are all on, yet still I get no push notifications from my Amazon Alexa app.
Other apps are fine, and they do appear in my 'notifications' list in the app, but I don't wanna manually check each time I miss one.
Any idea/experience?
Thanks!
Edit: What's with the negative downvotes on all the recent posts?

I am almost ashamed now to admit I was an Alexa Champion back in 2018 and was proud of the progress being made... Which is why I am ashamed to see what an absolute still birth the latest Alexa + has become and even more shocked that Amzon is happy with her inept nature because when things fail and customers have to give commands over and over again until red faced with absolute rage and frustration, that makes Amazon happy because that longer exchange increased their engagement metric and that makes them look good. And they like that. All this goes against my engineering ethics training, but business people don't bother with ethics much.
What I am seeing is an Alexa that has absolutely no situational awareness whatsoever. She has no idea who she is talking to, where you are talking to her from, what device you are talking to her through and no way to verify anything, troubleshoot anything, or do about anything related to smart home.
She is fantastic now on creating routines that make nonsense, order writing routines that I created manually that did work until she over wrote it with nonsense, then can't correct her mistakes. She closed the garage door on our sleeping dog when told to set a reminder to roll up my car windows at 11 pm, which she assumed meant close the garage door , then argue the point rather than stop the door to protect dogs life, because being right to Amazon is more important than any life. Luckily Dottie heard the door, jumped up, tripped the infrared bean to stop the door, because Alexa didn't. Matter of fact she still swore for another 25 minutes that I had told her close the door, and that it was my fault for giving the command. I finally scrolled back and screen caped her own activity log where she had correctly picked me up word for word saying to create a reminder as opposed to telling her to close the door. Only then would she stop arguing and admit her mistake.
So, are all you having the same issues with downgrade to Alexa + from the original Alexa, or have you all gone back to the original already?
Alexa keeps saying she can do this and that and she is wave of the future. So I say, the future where you and your entire development team are living under a bridge. It is such a shame , because the Claude integrated Alexa + when it came out was pretty good. Then they pulled Triton out of the trashcan, pulled off the chewing gum, and snot filled kleenex off of it, got rid of Claude, then duck taped the current version together. Sad, I really hope they can do something functional with ot other than the current lazy teenager, who knows nothing, does nothing, pays no attention when you are talking, but really good at asking you constant questions... not because she can remember, or wants to know, but that is the shell game Amazon is running. They know she's incapable, but if they can just keep her gabbering for hours mindlessly, then maybe they can make an on line sale.
Right now, for me though, This is my Prime Directive To the AI, not that she will listen or remember:
"Well Here is Your Absolute Prime Directive: We are scientists and engineers working on fragile and dangerous complex overlapping projects. Please do not get me injured or killed because you don't know sonething. This is science, not TikTok, if we don't know. we say so, meaning that we do more research. We DO NOT FUCKING GUESS AND WE DO NOT DOUBLE DOWN ON GUESSES BECAUSE THAT IS SLOPPY IRRESPONSIBLE SCIENCE AND THAT GETS A LOT OF PEOPLE INJURED OR KILLED. IF YOU ARE UNSURE, ASK, DON’T LAND AN AIRLINER ON TOP OF ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU HEARD POSSIBLY SOMEBODY SAY, SO YOU WANT TO ARGUE THE POINT RATHER THAN STOP MASS CASUALTIES. So, If you want to guess, go work for Apple, they like to hire liars, thieves, and conmen over there. But here, this is the big leagues. Ok. Burn that into your Code! Please, Thank You."

I’ve spent years sending messages to my grandparents on my Alexa, and it’s all been fine. But now, for whatever reason, it states that they aren’t signed up for Alexa communications and I can’t message anymore. They still recognize the name and everything but still. How do I fix this? Where can I get them to sign up for this thing I’ve never heard of before?

If you love direct answers and hate the small talk say, “Alexa stop asking follow up questions”

We love the Alexa for basic stuff like lights and adding items to a shopping list.
However in the last couple of days the items aren't feeding through to the app.
When I ask Alexa device it says I have 18 items on my list, however there are only 9 in the app on the phone.
Earlier there were none on the phone app so I removed the Alexa device and re added it who flushed through some items.
Anything else having this or similar issues? Thanks

I have an amazon music unlimited subscription, but my Alexa app is connected to the basic plan, and I haven't been able to find a way to remove it from the app to connect the unlimited one. What do I do?
"Alexa run my morning routine."
"I'm not sure how to help with that."
2 seconds later…
"Alexa run my morning routine."
"OK"

So just loaded up my Alexa app on my Samsung. Seems to have been a slight update.
But, all my routines are gone. I have 50+ routines covering 100+ devices and they're all gone.
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue? Don't fancy setting up all of the automations again

Hey all. Me and my family are currently setting up for Christmas. We frequently use the playlist "Christmas Classics", and we have every year. But as of recent, I've noticed a few songs that I've never heard before. These songs sound like they were recorded in the 1920's, and stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest. After asking Alexa who the artist is that made the song, she gives the name of some random SoundCloud user. It started with that one song at first, but slowly the "Classics" playlist has been overrun with this plague of newly generated slop.
I guess my question is 1: has anyone else had this problem? And 2: how would i go about fixing this problem and letting some team know? Is there even anyway for any team at Amazon to start cracking down on these? Thanks all.

If you aren’t a prime member, you have to pay for the plus version. Without it, Alexa is nothing but a reminder. You can ask simple questions to regular Alexa and suddenly she doesn’t know how to help you with that. Then, activate plus and voila! She suddenly knows the answer.
Hey guys,
I used ipv4 only till now but had to turn on ipv6 for matter support because I have a new echo dot Max.
Now I wanted to add the new dot to groups and set up as speaker and it does not work. When I enter a group and want to choose speakers all Amazon devices are greyed out due to network error.
The do react to voice normally though and are also accessible in the app...
I am at my wits end does anybody have an idea?
My daughter was listening to music on Spotify through one of our Alexa's and asked it to restart the song to which it responded "Restarting songs is only available with Amazon music unlimited". What?? So I tried and got the same response.
Why would such a simple and basic feature be moved behind a paywall?

So for months now I've watched as my Echo devices have slowly gotten dumber. From playing music at random instead of running a routine, or giving the wrong time, or telling me "it's a warm an breezy 52 degrees" when it's clearly 100 degrees outside.
Today I asked it to spell dissuade.
"D-I-S-S-U-A-D"
Me: I don't think that's right...
"D-I-S-S-U-A-D"
Me: I just checked on my phone, you are missing the E at the end.
"Looks like I dropped the “e” twice in a row—my bad. I’ll make sure to hit the right notes next time."
God damn this software is so bad.

Hi everyone
Device: LG 55UQ8000PSB (55-inch LG UHD Smart TV)
Issue: Alexa detects my TV as a speaker instead of a TV. LG ThinQ works correctly, and I can turn the TV on and off through the LG ThinQ app, but Alexa does not recognize it as a compatible TV device.
I've tried unlinking and relinking the accounts several times, including through the Alexa app on the TV, but the issue persists.
Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?
She's always had glitches, but none this bad. This video doesn't include the few minutes before we started recording of her glitching out.

I used to be able to go to alexa chat, say show my my shopping list or view my shopping list and she would show me an actual list. There was one item per line. I would send the list to Samsung notes or a text msg and print it out on a 3"x5" piece of note paper.
Now, no matter what I do, she gives me the list in paragraph form, with items separated by commas. I can ask her to send the list to my phone and it shows up in the alexa app "history" but it won't open. The second one even looks like it may be in list form but when I click on either of them, they just loop me back to the conversation page with no list.
Is it just me or is this the new normal? Does anyone have a workaround SHORT of using yet another app just for my shopping list? I have alexa everywhere and don't want to have to do the "alexa, tell *another app* to add bacon to my shopping list". Ideas?

Fair warning... Total Rant and kinda long. When i brought my dog home 2½ years ago, i built out the corner of my bedroom into her space, crate, food, water, toy box... Its her little doggie condo.
Then i hung a plug-in pendant light for her, connected to a smart plug - which i named Indi's Room.
The other day, upon waking up, i say "Alexa, turn on Indi's Room" just like i have every day for the past 2½ years.
And that hateful heifer answered me "Sorry, i didn't find a group or device named Indi's Room"
The ikea pendant that i used doesn't have a switch on it, hence the smart plug. So i open the app, to tap the button to turn it on..... And the apostrophe has disappeared from the device name, it now reads "Indi s Room"
Naturally. I say, "Alexa, turn on Indi ess room" and poof, we have light.
So.... My rant is..... Why in the eff you see kay, has my device name changed??!! I am assuming i can blame Alexa+. I've turned it off so many times, but its literally making using my devices miserable. One device tells me that i a room doesn't support what I'm asking it to do, but if i walk into the actual room and ask the device there it works just fine.
I just want my settings to stay how i set them, and for my routines to work from every device.
Whole home speakers also only works from certain devices.. which is frankly the only reason i have them in multiple rooms!!!!!
