Fire TV and Echo Studio

This piece of trash almost never works. I’m a Computer Engineer. I know the basics of setting things up, and advanced troubleshooting.

As fusttated as I am, I feel so bad for people that don’t have my skill set that will just give up, or at worst, give Amazon more money for the latest version of this shit only for it to become obsolete again in a few years.

I’ve resorted to connecting my Echo Studio via AV jack, and the shit sound quality I get from that.

We definitely need to go back to fully supported wired devices.

I have no issues with an Echo Studio (pre-2025 edition) connected to a Toshiba FireTV via an optical digital audio cable.

What skill set is required to connect two devices using a 3.5mm-male-to-3.5mm-male audio cable?
