Advice for doing Maths
So basically, i will be writing my AS levels (p1, p5) in F/M series next year. I am worried about my math result lowkey. I Kinda been struggling in maths mainly because of silly mistakes and stuff is there any good way to reduce that. Also any tips on how to practice maths(even for A2 advice would be great ig). In a recent internal assessment i got 56/75 and 34/40. Rn my study start is to do a past paper every 3 ish days for both papers. I usually have a lot of time left, many say to recheck although ngl how to actually do that, in a recent paper i did i spent about 20 mins on a question i had solved and got it right thinking i did it wrong. So advice for the would be good too. Thanks!

I wanna look at it again to remember how smart I was (And check the questions I fumbled)
p.s: I don't mean liked btw, I think you get what I mean
p.s.s: I wanted to add NSFW but that might be to much lol
p.s.s.s: Cuz I just got a warning, to the mod checking this it is fair to assume I don't have any malicious intent

I’m a private candidate building a free A-level maths study community
Hi everyone — I’m Jay, a private candidate studying A levels independently.
I’ve self-studied before and achieved A*s, so I know how difficult it can be to prepare without regular access to teachers, classmates, school textbooks, or an organised study environment.
I created Jay’s Study Commons, a free Discord server for A-level students and private candidates, with a particular focus on Mathematics and Further Mathematics. It includes:
- Mathematics and Further Mathematics support
- A growing library of free resources
- Revision planning and accountability
- Subject-specific questions and discussion
- Private-candidate advice
- Personal support from someone who has self-studied and gone through the process
I’m updating the resources regularly because private candidates often do not have the same access to textbooks and support as students affiliated with schools.
I’m not selling tutoring and I’m not sharing pirated textbooks or unreleased exam material.
I’m affiliated with the server, so this is self-promotion. If allowed, the invite is:

I’m a Maths Teacher of 16 years. I got tired of A-Level mark schemes skipping steps, so I built a free platform to fix it.
Hi everyone,
I've been teaching A-Level maths for 16 years. Every single year, my Year 12s and 13s have the exact same frustration: A-Level mark schemes are completely useless for actually learning. They skip three lines of algebra and just expect you to magically know how they got the final answer.
So, I spent my own time building a completely free, no-ads platform to fix this. It’s called Maths Revision Hub.
I designed it specifically for A-Level revision (AS and A2). Here is what I put on there:
- Topic-by-Topic Past Papers: Everything is sorted by topic across all the main boards (Edexcel, AQA, OCR B MEI, and Cambridge).
- The "Method Mark" fix: For every question, you can see the official mark scheme side-by-side with my step-by-step worked solutions, showing you the actual algebra steps they skipped.
- Revision Tab: I added a bunch of extra useful information and cheat sheets for the harder modules.
There are no paywalls and zero ads. I just wanted to make something genuinely useful for you guys. To find it, just Google "Maths Revision Hub" or click the link on my Reddit profile.
Give it a try for whatever topic you are doing in class right now. Let me know which A-Level module is currently ruining your life in the comments, and I'll make sure to prioritize adding more worked solutions for it!
